Ok...I know that in the sims you can only have one active family. I know that.

I am building an entire apt complex with 6 buildings on seperate lots that are close together to make it look like one giant complex. You know what I mean?

What I want to know is can I create the inactive sims and place them in the other empty apts? I like my sims better than EAs sims, you know?

Thanks.

Perhaps you could first move in a Playable sim, and then make them into townies with the Teleport shrub, and perhaps they would still live in the house?? At least it could be worth a try.

Why wouldn't you be able to do this? The only thing I can think of is story progression moving them out when needed.

Thanks.

You can add sims to other houses in edit town mode, although you can't be sure that they'll stay there unless you have a story progression mod.

I have tried this before and it wouldn't let me add extra sims to the other empty apts.

They want their sims to move into the empty, NPC-only apartments. They dont just want extra sims living on the same lot.

As far as I am aware there is no way to force any given sim to move into an NPC apartment, and in fact the sims that do move into said apartments are usually generated specifically to live there instead of being taken from the neighborhood. They're "townies", basically.

You could just edit the sims that DO move in.

Let me stress, I have not done this, it's just a theory...

What if you use a combination of Twallan's MasterController (to set the selectivity) and Flyby's MultiOwners door mod? I would think you could put all the Sims on the lot, then assign keys for the active part of the apartment complex to your active Sims, then make the others Sims unselectable with MasterController.

Good idea, but the only problem is that FlyBy hasn't update his mod in ages...

I thought you could use Twallan's Master Controller to place the occupant of a properly built NPC apartment home, be it townie or random sim around town.

If you want a sim you created to live in a NPC apartment(I hope thats what you mean)
1) Have a sim that you want to live in the NPC apartment living in the town somewhere. Whether it be residential house or an empty lot.
2) Using MC controls, click on the sim and turn their selectability to NPC.
3)Go to your properly built Apt NPC door and click on the NPC door that you want your newly appointed NPC to live. You must not wait a long time after you build the apartment as the game can be quite quick to place their own townies
4)Using MC controls, navigate to the add menu(i think that's the right one) and find your sim from the NPC pool. Rinse and Repeat for more neighbors.

I believe those are the right directions. I can double check in my game if it doesnt work

Can you tell me the path in MC you use to make a sim unselectable? I'v spent hours trying to figure it out and googling and NRAAS is down.
