View Full Version : "Propose" option not showing up

I've seen people talk about this problem, but only for TS3, so that wasn't very helpful due to different relationship features in the different games.
Okay, so I had twin girls (teenagers), and I made two boys to match them up with.
I set them up in pairs, and although I was able to propose to stay the night, the option of going steady never showed up, and neither did "move in" or "engagement" when they became adults. I thought that might be because they'd be family by marriage, so I set up a new pair to test my theory.
I made two sims in the same household (roomies) to see if I could build their relationship and eventually have them married. They're best friends and in love, their daily and lifetime relationships are at 100, they can Woohoo and try for a baby, but no option to propose ever shows up, even after up to 30+ positive romantic interactions.
I have another pair with a similar problem, who live in separate homes. I want them to move in together, but that option, again, never shows up. They even have a baby together, and they've both rolled wants to get married.
I have Double Deluxe, which the Sims Wiki tells me needs no patches, so I'm not sure what to do.
If anyone else has had this problem and/or can help me, I would appreciate it so very much.
Also, if you read all of this you get a cookie. ;)

General - Do the Game Problem FAQ
You appear to have not gone through our main Game Help:Game Problem FAQ. Please go through and do the steps on this FAQ, including any others that it links to (for example the Game Help:Game Problem-Problem Custom Content FAQ).

Usually, in the vast majority of cases, actually going through and doing the steps (doing, not just reading) fixes issues - sometimes you may be asked to remove custom content, or to patch - please rest assured that all of our FAQs have been tested by our staff and volunteers and we wouldn't suggest you do something unless it's been known to fix particular issues.

If you have already done the above, please let us know. Most commonly, missing interactions are caused by CC problems. :)

Oh, I'm so sorry! I skimmed through it, but I was afraid of deleting my CC, because every single sim and house has some, but I didn't read/see the part "A Note About Saving." If CC is the problem, it's going to be a daunting task trying to locate which is the problem. I have thousands of CC files and I've been having this problem for several weeks- at least 1,000 files ago. :o

Thanks so much for responding. I'll update after I go through the proper steps.

I'm sure you *didn't* do this.. but it's something I could have done: You didn't accidentally make the promising youngsters relatives in CAS when you made them?

I had a couple of Sims in my Uni-hood in the same dorm, and I thought "They get along well - they should be together.." it took me a while to realise they were half-siblings and thus couldn't be romantic :faceslap:

I'm happy to say I found the problem files and I can see the propose option again. Also, thanks to the members who contributed to the guide and I apologize for the unnecessary post. Let's just say I've never been more glad I put all my downloads into organized folders.
LilGeek, haha, I've done something similar to that before (actually they were full siblings. . .I know. xD)
