Is there a way to customize my Sims 3 to view my own videos and play my music? I know how to do this for Sims 2, but not for Sims 3?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

View your own videos how? On the television? If so yes there is a way to do that. Odistant's Tutorial (http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=396117) is a little out of date but it's still reasonably followable. The only thing to remember is that when he does the part for outputting the audio right after the bolded warning about not hitting create just yet the output file should be .dat with the added parts not .avi if you do it as an .avi the other program won't take it or at least it didn't for me.

As far as audio I believe Twoftmama (http://simsasylum.com/tfm/index.php?) has had some success in replacing the audio files. So you might want to check into how she did it.
