View Full Version : Custom content not working in Showtime

Hello everyone... I hope someone could please help me out here.

So my custom content worked somewhat fine in the Sims 3 with no expansions and regular patch updates, besides a few crashes every now and then. But it was bearable.. if you know what I mean...

Anyway I just recently installed The sims Outdoor Living Stuff as well as The Showtime expansion. And all the patches...
First my costume content wouldn't show up. So I did the "Old Way to the New Way" switch. I even used the FrameworkSetup.zip and I let it run with just the nointro.package and NoBuildSparkles.package. Which worked there was no intro the world loaded fine and there was no build sparkes. So then I tried it with my custom content and when it comes to loading a world, it doesn't matter which world it is, it gets to being about 75% loaded when it just stops/freezes there. I've even just left it like that just to see if it would ever load, but I'd come back a few hours later and no such luck.
I did delete the cache files, every time I tried to play the game.
Then I tried Delphy's Dashboard and got rid of everything that was corrupted. But when go to load the world the same thing happens.

I'm assuming I still have some corrupted content that the dashboard could not pick up.
And I am stumped at what else I can try, since the world won't load. I can't try the Process Monitor.

So if anyone can help me out I'd really appreciate it. I am currently playing without custom content, but I am missing it soooo much.

Try the Finding Problem Custom Content FAQ (http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game%20Help:TS3%20Finding%20Problem%20Custom%20Content). The 50% Method is probably the best way to find the problem package(s).

Sigh so no good news..... I tried doing that yesterday... turns out I didn't have one bad file in all that content..... It doesn't seem to want to load a lot of content but as soon as I started trying it out in smaller groups it loaded fine and everything worked. I even messed around in Create a Sim and then then build/buy mode for about 15-20mins on each group of files.

But as soon as I put all the files back together and try, now the world doesn't want to load at all it just stays at 0%. I just don't get it.... I know I have a lot of custom but I've heard that others had more and their games load fine maybe a couple extra mins for loading.... but none the less.... And what I also don't get is it all loaded perfectly fine when I just had the sims 3 running and I haven't added any more content....

Here's what I have in my Resource.cfg (I'm almost hoping it's just that simple of it being outdated...):
Priority 501
DirectoryFiles Files/... autoupdate
Priority 1000
PackedFile Overrides/*.package
PackedFile Overrides/*/*.package

That Resource.cfg came from the Frameworksetup.zip

I can't try the Process Monitor. Why not?
