View Full Version : Page sometimes jumps as news items in blue bar change.

I'm having a problem with the way the site is displayed. In the light blue bar at the top of the page, between "Welcome to Mod The Sims" and "Sponsored by: 1UP Games," there's a news section that rotates among four items. In Firefox, with the browser window maximized, this doesn't cause any problems, but with the narrower window size I prefer (or in IE at any width), when the news item switches to number two of four ("Never made any custom content before?"), the "News: <<# of 4>>" text and the box with the news item in it move underneath the "Online: #" bit. When that occurs, the blue bar stretches and everything on the page below it jumps downwards, then back up again once it switches to the fourth item.

You're not the only one to experience this; it has been brought up before, including here (http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=462878). It can happen at lower resolutions - or narrower windows, as the case might be. :) One way around it if you want to keep using the narrower window width (but not go to a higher resolution) is to reduce the size of the text in your browser - see post #4 and onwards in the thread I linked.

Sorry about that; I must not have searched thoroughly enough. Thank you.

You're welcome, and don't worry, it's easy to miss. I only remembered that particular thread because I was a little involved in it towards the end. :)
