Hi, I tried to download some custom content for the first time today and I'm not really sure what went wrong but all of a sudden the game wouldn't open. The icon just lighted up for a minute when I clicked on it and nothing more happened.

Im using a Mac OS X 10.7.something and the system requirements should be okay. We have both Ambitions and a "stuff pack" installed. It have been running with some minor problems until now, but no crashing or anything major.

I installed it like the eHow page suggested (http://www.ehow.com/how_5338241_install-custom-content-sims-mac.html) but after that I wasn't able to launch it. I then removed the installed files but nothing changed. After removing everything I had put into the folders including the resource.cfg file and the Mods folder it seemed to work normally again.

This could possibly be a very stupid question since I'm new to Sims. But have I done anything wrong? Or should I just accept that this computer cant install custom content?

Those instructions are a few years out of date. :) Try again, following our instructions, and try running the game with just the test files (you'll see what I mean once you've gone through the instructions) installed before adding any other CC: Game Help:Installing Sims 3 Package Files.

Thanks! I forgot that Sims 3 isn't that new, cause I've only been able to buy it recently.

Yep - it's an easy mistake to make, especially if you don't already know that the CC system changed. Have you got it working now?
