Chime for pets getting pregnant?

I can't seem to remember if the normal chime sounds when a pet gets pregnant. Then again, if a pet is pregnant, you wouldn't be able to try for puppies/kittens/foals would you?

I just really can't remember, and I've got my two dogs trying for puppies over and over.
