I have the Sims 2 and Sims 2 University, I LOVE the Harry Potter stuff people have come out with and I noticed that a lot of it uses both Sims 2 and Sims 3 products. I was wondering if you have the Sims 3 products, do you really NEED the Sims 2 products as well in order to use them? Which is better, the Sims 2 platform or the Sims 3 platform? :help:

The Sims 2 and the Sims 3 are separate games. Therefore, nothing that you download will require both TS2 and TS3. You just have to download the CC which is appropriate to your game.

There are many many threads about whether Sims 2 or Sims 3 is better. If you ask Sims 2 players, they will usually answer Sims 2. If you ask Sims 3 players, they will usually answer Sims 3. It makes more sense to read the existing threads, than to start yet another thread on this unanswerable question.

Sims 2 and Sims 3 are completely separate games - the stuff that works in Sims 2 doesn't work in Sims 3, and vice versa - nothing requires both. There's lots of Harry Potter stuff for TS2.

Which one is better depends on who you ask and what they want out of the game. There's several threads on "TS2 is better than TS3" and "TS3 is better than TS2" and so forth if ya go looking. There's no real answer - if you want to find out, try both and see which you like best. :)

Okay, thanks. As far as better, I meant that would the Sims 2 stuff work with Sims 3, but since they're all separate games, I guess I'll have to get both XD. It will take a LOT of room on my computer, but this is supposed to be MY computer, built for me to use DAZ and my hubby has been using it for school and getting on ME for all the stuff he has on C drive.... HAHA I've gone through it all, and I don't have much if anything on that drive (my sims stuff now in the mydocuments blah blah blah section is about it). Perhaps its about time for a hostile take over since he's at the end of his term this week. I suppose we'll have to work on what happens the next term. Anywho does anyone know if the content here on Mod the Sims and other sites PC only, or is there a way to import them to console games. If I can import them to console games, it might be easier to play there and let him have the computer for school, LOL less of a headache anyway, haha.

I am completely unaware of any way to use any CC in one of the Sims console games. Even if you can make CC for them, the console games are different games as well, even if they do happen to have the same names. (Although the console version of Sims 2 is a little bit like what you might get by mixing both Sims 2 and Sims 3, then adding a very minor storyline. It is actually worth checking out if you can find it and play it, and you don't mind having to progress a somewhat (make that -very-) lame story in order to unlock better items.)
