I just installed Showtime and ran a quick test with the Martinez couple from the bin in Sunset Valley and got immediately annoyed by this new heckle interaction. I don't understand this. Why and what for? He has the option to heckle in his pie menue, she doesn't, but autonomously they do it both, to each other, immediately after flirting and kissing. It doesn't seem to have any impact on the relationship but gives them bad moodlets, moodlets I don't really understand either. Why does one feel unlucky when some idiot leaves the house and boos you from behind through the wall? Does she feel unlucky because she married such a moron?
I then switched to the Langeraks and there it is only Daisy Mae who has the heckle option in her menu. All the others haven't. With the Clavells it is Xander who has that option but was heckled by his father, who, however, doesn't have it, IIRC.
Is there actually any point to this? And does it serve any other purpose than making your Sims a nuisance to others and the player? Needless to say I immediately searched for and found a mod by twoftmama that makes it non-autonomous, but nevertheless...
BTW, under the mean options I can also now accuse each and every Sim of being a Diva. Sometimes I begin to wonder where the devs of this game grew up to acquire such a weird sense of social life.
