I can't assign beds!

For some reason, When I click on beds, I can assign it to a sim!
The option dosen't even show up when I click on a bed! :(

Here's everthing I've tried:

1: Deleting the bed and buying a new one (no option for the new bed either)

2: A new lot with different sims (Still could not assign beds)

3: A new town with different sims (This didn't work either)

4: google and yahoo search (heck, I even used bing. But no one brung this problem up)

5: removing my downloads folder. this didn't work (I never downloaded hacks, just hair, clothes and makeup)

6:I tried to uninstall then reinstall the University pack (only this pack), but that didn't work (Surprisingly, it kept my saved files)!


So, yeah! I'm fresh out of ideas. . .

Can anyone help me?

I am confused as to why you think this is an option that came with the game.... Sims develop "ownership" of a bed based on how often they sleep there. You don't click anything to assign a bed. This process, however, does not work properly as it has been coded in the game, and there are multiple bed hacks to fix it. (SmartBeds by TwoJeffs, SimLogical reservable beds/cribs, etc.) Those will do what you are looking for.

Likely because you can't assign beds. It isn't an option, period.

A solution to the potential problem (for 1 Sim per bed) would be to assign doors to each person's bedroom to themselves.

E.g. you have 4 Sims living at home. Make 4 bedrooms, have one door per bedroom, and lock each door for each of the Sims living in the house. That way, they can only sleep at the room where they can enter through.

Now, if you want two Sims per room, make two doors, one for "Sim A", and another for "Sim B" to walk through.

Wow, really?

Not to sound stupid or anything. . . But I thought you could choose which sim sleeps in which bed. . .

Can you at leased choose which sims sleeps in which room with out the college dorm door? If so, that would be great!

And for some reason, parents can sleep in the same beds as kids!
Is my game gliched? Because I thought they would refuse to do so (I'm implying that my sims don't refuse)

ETA: Parents are able to sleep in beds with kids as long as a) they're friends and b) both are wearing pajamas, not underwear. Same with siblings.

Perhaps you had CC beds that were assignable, at one point? I've never actually seen such beds, but there are definitely assignable pet beds (I've got some), so I figure there are probably assignable beds as well.

Smart Beds would be better, regardless, because it works on ALL beds - Maxis originals and CC.

No, I was referring to CC pet beds, making the point that if assignable CC pet beds exist, seems likely that assignable CC sim beds are possible as well.
