View Full Version : In Need Of An Answer too: Do some teens hate to do homework?

ALRIGHT, so I recently re-installed my games. I think I know what's going on. And if it is that, I certainly may cry, here comes a lot of b**** slapping. But now let me drive back onto subject.

I have this Leo Sim, and today when she got off the bus, and looked at her C+, she not only seemed disappointed, but held her head low, as she walked back into the house.

Her sister is a Cancer, and is a B+ student. And she doesn't do that.

So are there some Zodiac Signs in the Sims 2, that make teens hate to do homework or get low grades? Because honestly, if it is a glitch and my game is on a frenzy, I may scream. -.-"

I just really hate to know that my game is once again tweaking out :(

So...Is there a possibility Tegan (The Leo) hates to do homework?

It's not a bug, it's a feature. Sims have individual reactions to different things, just like in real life. They wouldn't be fun to play if they didn't. And it's not predictable strictly on any individual game mechanic - sims with identical personalities may behave very differently, depending on life experience, training, and contingent circumstances. That's how you get single-bolt sims insisting on being together and ignoring the perfect triple-bolter you set up for them, grouchy sims who hug a lot, nice sims who slap the cow mascot silly, and so on.

Stop freaking out over every little thing. You'll spoil the game for yourself.

BUT I WANNA! Thank you, Peni. Its just that was the first that happened. She was like looking all sad and pitiful o.o

She also does that when she is playing Chess. She is not a very patient young lady.

I wasn't sure what was going on, then again last night, I had a moon walking penguin. And that was kind of freaky -.-"

Thank you, Peni, so much. Sorry for the weird thread. I just have never seen that. o.O

From the title of the post, I thought you were talking about the expert homework-hiders. That's the worst part for me of moving a family into a new house: finding where the kids stash their homework!

OMG I know! One time, my Sim put her homework in the snow, and I was like...

"WHERE DID YOU PUT YOUR FRACKING HOMEWORK?!"

I had to literally go into buy mode, and move it into the house, and then I made her do her homework. I giggled of course, then grinned evilly. She did it again two days later...and I am like:

"Seriously? WHY?! Just do it, and get it over with! You'll never have to do it again! Until the next day! Just shut up and get it done!"

>.<

Bahhhh I hate when they leave their homework all over the lot willy-nilly! That's why all of my sim children use one of these: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=312004

That's why I like having a lot of my kids either home schooled or prep-schooled -no homework to lose.

I tried that hack-that's the one that conlicted with something else I have. Sims hands came off! Guess that's one way to get out of doing your homework.

I never did understand homeschooling, how do you improve their grades? Is there like a buyable homework object? I'd like to give it a chance for some of my more country sims!

Makes perfect sense to me to see a sim have a sad "Ah maaan..." reaction to a C+ (not that great, certainly room for improvement), and no reaction to a B+, which is usually considered "good enough" to not have to worry. Why does this seem weird to you? More important, why in the world would you interpret that as a sign that your game is borked?

I could make a case for highly Playful sims "hating" homework, but even so, if you direct a sim to do homework, and he/she balks, it's going to because one or more needs are too low, and no other reason. No sim with high motives will refuse to do homework, regardless of what attitude toward homework you, as the player, ascribe to that sim.

Whether or not homework is done when a sim goes to school is what determines whether or not his/her grade will rise. His/her attitude toward homework is not a factor in this.

Did YOU like doing homework?

If you didn't, does that mean YOU are borked?

See how that correlation doesn't make sense?

The sad expression was not because she didn't want to do homework; it was shame at the low grade she had received at school. Get her to an A+ and she'll be overjoyed.
I have a hack that makes homework fun: ailias_homeworkrealhelpmorefun.package. It's a godsend.

Serious sims of the 0-points-playful variety should find homework fun. You don't get much more hardcore serious than homework.

You think the sigh is bad? I've had sims bring home grades so awful they screw up the grade slip and stamp on it. XD It's those little things that make me love this game.

Here's a little something I learned about homework in the course of having two consecutive neighborhood resets (not at all sure what caused the second one; must've been some custom content I downloaded while waiting to get my game back after the crash):

A neighborhood reset makes undone homework vanish. This does not affect grades at all.

I love homework.. mod by TJ called homeworksometimes. HW only comes about once or twice a week and students still get A's. I can't find a link to it though.

Josepina that hack is on the Simbology website. http://www.simbology.com . Check the compatibility carefully - works in your game?

Pescado's Macrotastic allows you to click on a school-age Sim and tell them to "do homework". They'll go find the homework wherever they put it. (If they didn't bring any home the option won't be there.)

The mod works in my game. I wouldn't play without it.

Same here. I like doing certain homeworks, but try to get me to like math home work and you'll fall flat on your face.

If there is a desk (or a sidetable) the homework will be placed on or next to it. Without either they will place it anywhere like next to the mail box. Unless you have a big family with several kids and the desk area is crowded with homework they will place it near the door.

For sims who hate homework often their fun meter is low. Some sims like the handheld games, some prefer an mp3 (put one in their inventory and they'll use it autonomously) some are satisfied with bouncing on the lounge. Sim kids who have a hobby have the least problem with boredom.
