Error when trying to install superpatch to 1.29

Below is the error message when I tried running the superpatch to 1.29. I'm at my wits end. I'm on my current 6 or 7 reinstall / uninstall today. Before I got this error I got the " an error occurred during startup. please see log for details. I only have the base game and ambitions installed. The have the following game versions (base 1.0.631.00001, Ambitions: 4.0.87.006001) as I was just about to patch before I installed WA, Fast Lane, and showtime. But I can't seem to get anywhere. Up until yesterday everything worked fine on my pc until I tried to install ShowTime, then I got the "an error occurred" message. So I uninstalled everything and removed all CC as I was going to start over fresh with CC. Also when into the patch downloader and it says that the skuversion for master suite, pets, generations, outdoor, high end, is missing or corrupted. These games aren't installed on my PC as I have to redownload them from Orgin and Amazon where they were purchased at.

Can anyone provide any advice before I go crazy?

*update - when I load from the base game launcher I do not get the error message taking me to the log, when I try to load from the ambitions icon I get the "an error occurred" message.

You have EPs installed with the basegame at retail? Well, that's impressive. I suspect the Launcher is showing you the wrong patch version. Try using one of these other methods to check your basegame version: Game Help:TS3 Patching Find Gameversion.

How did you uninstall the games? Control panel, game's own uninstall exe, Origin etc?

When I open the base game launcher it shows the 1.0.631 version. When I open the ambitions launcher it shows all zero's as the version. I retrieved the game versions from the skuversion text file. I uninstalled the games in the control panel, then I went one step further and removed from the program files and cleaned up the registry.

So my first question I guess is:
1. Do I uninstall the expansion pack then try patching using the superpatch?
2. Why did I get that error when attempting to use the superpatch?

Just got done patching from 1.0.631 to the next patch in 2009. Then patched to 1.922 and now I'm getting an "error occured during startup", so I'm thinking the patches aren't working? I did uninstall again Ambitions.
