My Version of the Maxis Medieval Bed *UPDATED Mesh*
 

14 Oct 2006 Finally, Major update of bed to make it compatible with the base game.
Please re-download both bed and recolors, I don't don't think the old ones will work with the new mesh.

This project was started after a question posted by daydream58 from Sim A Little, Dream A Lot , in the, "Where can I find", thread at N99, so all thanks go to Deedee for sparking the idea.

I separated the drape from the Maxis Medieval Bed and cloned each as separate objects, the bed can be recolored and used now without having the drape. The Drapery is now a decorative object and takes it's texture from the bedding, both Maxis and all custom, so you can mix and match anyway you want.

Poly/Vert counts --

Bed -- 2426P 2569V
Drape -- 2598P 2969V
Together they total about 800 per tile for a 6 tile object. These are both still Maxis objects, so the poly and vert counts are original, all I did was separate them.

The drape will be found under Decorative - Misc in the catalog for 150§, the bed, under Seating - Beds, is 1050§.

I've added 3 recolors of the bed in a file as a separate download. You are welcome to create and post recolors of the bed anywhere you want, however the mesh MUST remain a free download. The mesh for the drape is different, the only way to recolor it is by recoloring the bedding.

My creations are File-Share-Friendly through email or IM and MUST remain that way.

Both are TS2 compatible, no expansions needed. If you have any problems please let me know.

I can't remember how many times I wish to have something like this.
I love this Maxis bed. I love how you enhanced this favorite object.

In addition I wonder why they (Maxis object makers) didn't think of it in the first place?

I would have thought that being able to change the bed curtains to match window curtains was obvious and sort of expected option for this object.

Anywho congrates to you for making my dream come true.

Thank you - I've always been so disappointed in the straight Maxis version because it's just not masculine enough for some simsituations (lace? c'mon). This is terrific! I'm d/l and putting in my CTN folder (which is growing nicely, I might add).

I don't know what else to write except thank you, thank you. I have been so saad waiting for my intel mac patches, but even when they came through and I could use the ep's, the beds (my favorites) are fairly limiting. Everything you touch is golden, truly.
