Jynx's Rabbit Holes Rugs for Residential Lots

This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.

I am tired of EA's incredible greed and outrageous prices for junk! I have moved to Second Life and am no longer supporting mods here. Feel free to do anything you want with my mods. There are very, very simple tuning mods and easily altered. If you enjoy playing Sims 3 I hope you continue to do so.

Let me start by saying these are not MY Rabbit Holes!
Jynx does not claim them as his and I do not claim them as mine.
Jynx created them based on the idea of Melissa Mel's Rabbit Holes.
The ONLY thing I have done is make them available on Residential Lots.
I cloned them and changed their OBJD files.

You can find Jynx's Custom Rabbit Hole Collection here:
http://www.customsims3.com/smf/index.php?topic=1931.0

You can get Melissa's Rabbit Hole Signs here:
http://nene.modthesims.info/download.php?t=376414

The rar file contains 15 Rabbit Holes in the form of rugs that show up in Buy Mode - Deco - Rugs

1. Book Store
2. Business Journalism
3. City Hall
4. Criminal Hideout
5. Day Spa
6. Diner
7. Grocery Store
8. Hospital
9. Mausoleum
10. Military Base
11. Movie Theater
12. Police Station
13. School House
14. Science Center
15. Sports Stadium

The ones most useful for Residential Lots are the Book Store, Grocery Store and School House.
Especially if you have a Loner Sim who hates leaving home.

**Space Requirements**

The minimum space you can have around the Rabbit Holes is 3 wide by 4 deep.
Any thing less than that and your Sims will stamp their feet and yell at you!

**Compatibility**
The bad news is they conflict with Jynx's Community Rabbit Hole Collection.

The good news is they can still be placed on Community Lots from Buy Mode so you don't need Jynx's.
The are compatible with Melissa Mels Community and Residential Rabbit Hole Signs.

They are compatible with all EP's and SP's.
Tested with:
Ambitions 4.2.32
World Adventures 2.7.7
Base Game 1.14.11

Polygon Counts:
unknown - not required at Custom Sims 3

Additional Credits:
Thanks to Jynx for making the Rugs, Melissa Mel for having the idea, and the creators of S3OC and S3PE for making it all possible.

You must have the expansion or stuff packs listed below installed to use this custom content. Please see the post text for any exceptions.

Jynx's Rabbit Holes for Residential Lots.rar 369.1 KB 20,283 19th Jul 2010
Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file. Now you will have either a .package or a .sims3pack file.

For Package files:

1. Cut and paste the file into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages folder. If you do not already have this folder, you should read the full guide to Package files first: Sims 3:Installing Package Fileswiki, so you can make sure your game is fully patched and you have the correct Resource.cfg file.
2. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

For Sims3Pack files:

1. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
2. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Find the item in the list and tick the box beside it. Then press the Install button below the list.
3. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the content to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
4. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

Other sims will come to your lot to shop unless you specifically click on the legacy store. If you use only this mod they will go to your sims house. I put one of the rugs on an outside porch so Sims are not going into the house. It can be a great way for Sims to meet one another and become friends.

I have all the EP's up to Showtime (I've drawn the line with EA - no more SP's, EP's and the ensuing patches. Too much trouble for a few "new" items)

There is little problem for me. For normal rabbitholes, my sims go there and work whole day, like they're supposed to do, but with these, sims just wander around the yard, though I've made sure your sims can get to all rabbitholes properly.

Will you be updating for Supernatural and the up coming Seasons? I hope so! Your rabbitholes had helped my game a bunch.

It would be nice to have the rabbit holes updated. There's a new alchemy shop that came with Supernatural... and the vault of Antiquity...

I am surprise that there is no Bistro rug or door. The Diner career is for just casual things, and the Bistro career is for formal things. I would love to have a Bistro Rug...

hey ^^ I love these rugs. Thank you and the people you got the idea from, for them. I would like it myself if you could maybe update for Supernatural and Seasons, and when they come out... University and Island Paradise ^_^ these make the game better. especially when it's a thunderstorm in game and I don't want my sims to get hit by lightening or something.

Margaret Pendragon updated these for Supernatural and University.

What would happen if I placed these rabbit holes in a basement, would the NPC sims still come to my residential lot to try and get into them. I want to have them on my residential lot, so I can attract extra people to my bar and home.

Do you think these are safe to use with the new 1.63 patch?

Works With All Patches
I decided To make my game A guinea pig and download the rugs on patch 1.67 It works absolutely fine so I might conclude it also works on future and past patches.

Thanks for these. I likely won't use them on residential lots, but the overall idea of rugs is helpful since I'm currently using a world that seems too small to place all the rabbit holes.

I don't understand why I can't find these rugs from where they are supposed to be. And I have tried installing the mod to two different folders so far, but they just don't show up.
