"Ask if Single" changed to Friendly 1.63

REMADE for the 1.63 patch. This mod still uses only the SocialData_BaseGame XML.

This mod is remade for the 1.22. Mod now uses only the XML titled SocialData_BaseGame, as they revamped the socializing XMLs drastically. This means that this mod might now be compatible with other 'socializing' type mods which were previously incompatible. An example is Shoni's Vampire Overhaul mod which I have checked; I haven't tested them together as I don't use that mod, but they should be fine together.

Shimrod Technologies A/S determined some time ago that Sims3 players are better served with an "Ask if Single" interaction which is Friendly rather than Romantic, such that your sim can discover if other sims have partners without hitting on them romantically. Change is instituted in this mod.


This is for earlier versions: This XML tuning mod uses the Socializing and SocializingTuning resources and will conflict with other mods using these resources, a typical example being a same-sex pregnancy mod.

This is a good mod, cuz i have pedophilia on in my sims3 using awsome mod and when i ask a teenager if she or he is single i get arrested lolz....so this is really good stuff Thanks for making

You can change the value to 0 and I believe you prevent any bisexual or homosexual activity ever happening autonomously, yes. Your active player sim would still have the opportunity to do romance with same gender, if directed by the player. You can mod this with the Sims 3 Mod Generator, it's easy. Just find the 'plugin' SimDescription and change the 6.0 to 0 or 0.0, generate the .package file and copy it into your Mods/Packages as usual.

I think it will work with 1.2.7. with no problems.

O. I don't use specially the Samesex pregnancy mod from here (MTS2), but I have other mods which include samesexpregnancy and this mod doesn't work with those..

Edit: I solved this problem.

Excellent! I thought it was really silly that relatives (I have a huge number of sims who are cousins for example) can never ask each other if they're single or not.

According to a topic I read over MATY, the release of the new patch (1.5/1.6) conflicts with your mod, if not all social interaction mods. I just wanted to let you know.

By the way, thank you for this. I've been using it for a long time and it's quite useful!

I love this mod. It's one of my favorites so it was the third mod to put in after updating my game (after noMosaic and SuperComputer). Sadly it does not work with the patch 1.6.6. Don't get any interactions on other sims at all.

Will you be updating this mod ? Please ?

EDIT: Just saw that I'm not the first to report. Must have missed that report.

I just figured out this wonderful mod is not compatible with the latest patch 1.6.6.
The sympton is the menu will not be shown up when I click non-active sims.

I believe lots of people will say thank you if this mod could be compatible with patch 1.6.6.

Shimrod101 already said that there are plans of making it compatible, but that it hasn't started yet.

To accomplish this, you only need to make two changes to the Socializing XML file:

Line 1597: change <Com>Amorous</Com> to <Com>Friendly</Com>
Line 6275: change <Result>Amorous</Result> to <Result>Friendly</Result>

(Line # based on most current version: 1.8/2.3 [base/WA].)

So what's the purpose of the additional 23,670 lines you added?

Um, my post was very short, concise, and to the point. There's nothing to elaborate. Only two lines--just two!--in the Socializing XML file need to be changed to move the "Ask if Single" option from Romantic to Friendly, yet Shimrod101 is adding (not just changing, but adding) 23,670 additional lines of data.

I am just asking what else is he screwing around with, or is this just a case of him not having a clue what he's doing; and I think his silence on the matter speaks volumes. People have a right to know what they are really installing.
