Hi Guys,

Sorry for being out of the loop for so long, but I should mention that this item only works for The Sims, University and NL. It is not compatible with OFB. I've just added this in main text; the reason it said works for all expansions was because it did work for all the expansions when I made it but now OFB has been released it won't work anymore.

Ooohh. I wonder when a version for OFB will be out. Maybe you should just wait until pets comes out so you don't have to remake it twice.

I only have NL and Uni and can't clean up the plates either though...

Default food disappears too soon
I have had to remove this hack because my sims were about to starve since the food they cooked disappeared as soon as it was loaded on a plate (before they could eat it) I have all the expansions except the glamour stuff pack and many mods/custom items installed. It happens even if the food is not a custom food and I believe that the first food i tried was pb&j sandwiches. Other than custom foods I believe I have a power frige and a nursery frige plus a mod that has people coming back from work bring restocks or pizza. If you have any other mods you want to have me check I will reply back asap...Thanks

I downloaded the FinishCustomFood hack before I found out that It would not be compatible for Ofb, I have Ofb, Uni, Nl, & FFS. I removed the hack from my downloads folder and it is still the same thing, Custom and non custom food disappear as soon as it's cooked. I don't have a large variety of custom food mods, and It doesn't seem like any of my other mods/hacks are effecting it...If anyone knows of a solution, would you please help me out...Thanks

I thought I'd mention that I'm working on a version compatible with pets and OFB. So far, so good. The hack is working like a dream but I do need some help - since OFB was the only two pieces of new food the cheesecake and the berry pie?

The reason I'm asking is because this version i'm working on only targets custom food and recognises normal food thus leaving it alone. What it does is deletes the actual food on the plate once a sim has "eaten" it. Here's a list of all the food I have so far extracted from my hack:

You can see the food on the right hand side. The rest is the script of what I've been using. Haven't tested it fully so won't post it just yet.

Have I missed anything lol?

Thanks for the help guys,
Mark.

PS. Simmycraze, I just read about your problem. Did you manage to fix it? If not, try removing all your downloads (just temporarily) in case it's something else. If that fails, try creating a new family and getting them to prepare a meal from scratch. The theory I'm testing is that the game might be confused because you may have saved the game while preparing food therefore the loop that it entered may be confused...if that makes sense

Hi guys.

I had the same issue with food disappearing. I removed the original file but I found, like many other people, the issue was still there.

What I did was search my entire hard drive for finishcustomfood.package and found that there were SIX hidden files with that name.

I have just removed them and will let you guys know if that has fixed the problem.

May 26th, 2008... I'm having the exact same issue as well.

I did a hard-drive search, but didn't find any hidden files of the .package file, only the ones I had dumped in the recycle bin and the one still in the .ZIP.

So... Someone please help? My Sims would otherwise have to live on snack foods forever.

This is a really old mod, so this kind of thing does happen, but I found out this mod glitched my game. Food that my Sims had just cooked on the stove or were served while in a restaurant would immediately disappear before they could eat anything. The plate, the food - all would just disappear out of the Sim's hand (or as soon as it hit the table in a restaurant). I have no idea if it was conflicting with some other food or behavior mod I have, but I removed this and the problem is gone.
