Laure was a young innocent when she was introduced into the fast paced world of French high society in the hopes of catching a rich husband to save her family from poverty. Beautiful and charming, the young girl caught the eye of a jaded, cynical vampire, Vincent Boncoeur. Enchanted by Laure's fresh innocence, Vincent wooed her and won her hand in marriage. On their honeymoon, he revealed to his new bride his true nature, promising that he could change his ways if she would stay by his side. Terrified, but in love, Laure agreed and was made into a vampire as well. The couple's happiness was short lived however, after returning to Paris, Vincent was hunted down by the brother of a former victim while Laure hid, terrified.

As Vincent lay dying, Laure realized that she couldn't face living without him. Vowing to wait until his soul was reincarnated, Laure fell into a deep sleep, buried beside her love. Now, several hundred years later, she has awakened, feeling that the soul of her beloved walks the earth once more. She has sworn that this time, she will find and keep the man she loves at all costs.
