Just installed the Sims 3 patch or about to? Read this article for helpful advice about patching and keeping your custom content working!
This is a Maxis Recolour which means that it is a recolour of an item that already exists in your game. Please check the Expansion pack requirements to see which game pack it recolours.
This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS2 - check the sidebar.
This is a new mesh recolour, and means that you will need to download the particular mesh itself in order for this to show up in your game. See the Meshes Needed section or read the text for more information.
This is a featured upload! It showcases the best talent and creativity available on MTS2 and in the community.
Hello one and all,
The Harry Potter Project is designed to bring the magic of the Potter books to life in your Sims 2 game. Witches and muggles alike will feel right at home with this big set. It's as close to a magic expansion as we're going to get.
In the following posts, you'll find characters, clothes, recolours and a brand new magical skill, complete with magic supplies.
Dumbledore's Army are Atavera, Avialle, Cinnamon, Echo,
Exnem, Jaxad0127, Lethe_s, LyricLee, Superfly and Tipoual
Our thanks to everyone who has helped this project along, including all original HP forum members, Numenor and especially Delphy and the staff.
Policy thingy
- Please don't steal our work.
- Don't upload the sims or their custom content without permission.
- You're very welcome to recolour the objects found here, but please link to this thread for the meshes.
- You're allowed to remesh the hacked objects, but please give credit to the original creators, and post a link to this thread with your upload.
- We like to know about recolors and additions! Please tell us about them so we can link you here.
Download info
- All downloads come with a readme file containing all necessary information. Please read those before asking questions. The downloads are also in rar archives to save on bandwith and serverspace.
Please do not ask for zips or single, grouped uploads. Just use Q-Xpress and click the little Q icon instead.
There's simply too much here to make different versions of archives Thank you.
- You will find the downloads in the first few posts of this thread.
Click on the link that says Click here to view all Comments / Feedback to open them.
and again Downloads are in posts 2-13
- And just for good measure. We will not be posting zip files.
Thank you.
Get Q-Xpress instead (just read the first note... again) Can all questions about any of the items/characters in this set please go in this thread (Rather than Pm'd to the DA). Thanks
Update apr 14: Added a new version of the haunted painting. This should work for non-ep versions. If you had problems with the old one, please redownload. It'll overwrite the previous package. Update apr 15: Repackaged the Bloody Baron. My apologies to Tabala.
Enjoy!

The defining skill to seperate the muggles from the regular people.
We bring you a new hidden magic skill that can be learnt and used for nifty things like potions.
For the magic skill to work, you'll need to download and install the 'DA_Echo_Magicskill' file.
Once the magic skill is in place, these are the tools of your trade:
The Cauldron
The Cauldron teaches you the subtle science of potion-making, while gradually training your magic skill. Bottle fame, brew glory, stopper death.. your options become wider as you get better at understanding the liquids that creep through human veins, bewitching the mind, ensnaring the sim senses.
The Phoenix Spell Book
Source of jinxes, counterjinxes and a few handy tips on resisting unforgivable curses. This Spellbook trains magic skill.
The Deatheater Spell Book
Forgotten how to pronounce 'Avada Kedavra'? Or just need something really nasty to fling at your opponent? This book has all the cruel and heartless reading your heart desires, while training your magic skill.

Good day all witches, wizards, squibs and muggles. Today, Dumbledore's Army presents The Harry Potter Careers
Even The Dark Lord needs a job!
Your average muggle sim is a cook, doctor, athlete, politician and possibly time traveller, but what about your most un-ordinary magical sims? Sims who want to break free from the restraints of the muggle world, sims who want to be different. What do they do? (am I going on a bit?) They follow the Harry Potter career path of course
The levels (most important)
House Elf
Gringotts Goblin
Care of Magical Creatures Teacher
Dragon Handler
Local Team Quidditch Player
National Quidditch Player
International Quidditch Star
but where do you go from there? Depending on what career you picked...
Good
Order of the Phoenix Member
Defence Against the Dark Arts Teacher
?????
Evil
Death Eater
Dark Arts Teacher
?????
Oh, cramberries- I've forgotten the last levels- looks like it's up to you to find 'em out
Clothing (as if witches and wizards would dress in muggle uniforms...)
For these careers, four sets of clothing are used-
All hard working wizards deserve a reward- but what reward you get depends on what type of wizard you are. For the good and the justus, the beautiful phoenix book will become available for your use. For the evil and the downright devious, the more sinister death eater book will become yours to indulge in. (P.S. These rewards will NOT override the slacker career reward).
But that's not it. From level 8 onwards you need magical skill points to advance further in your wizarding career-
4 to get to level nine
8 to get to level ten
The points are available through these rewards books! So what are you waiting for? Get studying, young witches and wizards, get studying!
Technical stuff-
** The file DA_Echo_Magicskill is needed to make the career work.
** Two files are included within the download- a hacked version and an unhacked version. Both share the same guids, so you can only have one set in at a time. The unhacked version is for back-up if the magical skill point hacked one proves to have problems (see below)
** Adding new skill points to a career is a new thing, and this is the first set of careers to have them. Although they've been tested, problems may still crop up- please report any errors, and use the unhacked careers as a standby if the hacked one is found to have an error. Hopefully this shouldn't happen *fingers crossed *
And that's it Enjoy!

Recolours and new meshed wizarding essentials. Need that special Dark artifact? That personal item your character can't live without? Find it here.
The Pensieve
A mystical, shallow bowl with slowly swirling liquid that emits a silvery light. When your sims touch it, the pensieve takes them back to relive memories. It becomes easier spot patterns and links that way.
Haunted Painting
The Fresco Phasmatis (L. Eucharagmae) or Haunted Painting looks like a normal painting during the day. At night, however, its occupants become restless. Haunted Paintings are known to be very shy, so don't expect too much movement while sims are in the room.
Weasley Clock
This handy device tells you where your family or housemates are, and in which state.

I'd like to get in quick and say a little something to all the DA members- It's been a pleasure to work with such skilled and magical people (pardon the rather weak pun), producing stuff that I never would have dreamt possible. It's taken some time, with lots of niggly details to sort out, but at last it's complete- I hope that you all enjoy it
If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate
You guys are AMAZING! Thank you so much for all your hard work. I'm gonna go on a downloading spree right now, and considering that I only have stupid dial up...this is gonna take awhile *Grumbles*, but it is SO worth it!!! Thank you again for these great downloads, you all are the best!
(Too bad we can only give a few stars...this deserves SO much more!)
