This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
This is a Maxis Recolour which means that it is a recolour of an item that already exists in your game. Please check the Expansion pack requirements to see which game pack it recolours.
This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS2 - check the sidebar.
This is a new mesh recolour, and means that you will need to download the particular mesh itself in order for this to show up in your game. See the Meshes Needed section or read the text for more information.
I’ve been asked a few times to do these and have finally got round to getting them together. So today I bring you 4 recolors of Atavera’s Les Paul guitar mesh and 2 for his fender bass, all based on instruments belonging to MCR.
Atavera, who made lots of wonderful things recently retired and his downloads were deleted. The mods have been given permission to re-upload his creations, and they can be found
here the two specific guitars you need are attached to post 2 and are the
Fender Jazz bass v4 and the
Les Paul Custom v4 . These guitars also
require the custom instruments hack that is
here, if the hack isn’t installed then they won’t work, but will look very decorative lying on the floor!
Install the recolors by putting them in the downloads folder like you would for any other recolor. But because the recolors are for a custom instrument they’re slightly difficult to find in game.
Go to the buy menu and buy a custom guitar/bass and position it where you want it. Then while still in buy mode click on the design tool button which looks like this:
Click on the guitar you’ve just bought and a recolor menu will appear, from which you can then select the guitar design you want.
Thanks go to Atavera, who although now sadly retired made great meshes and had a generous open share policy.
As alway have fun with my downloads and if you make any good films with them drop me a link.
PS. I also have matching drum kits which can be found
here and
here.
And the outfit Ray's wearing in the pictures can be found
here, for Frank and Mikey's threads go and brave the exchange!
28/12/2006 UPDATED: Thanks to Kadez who sent me some pictures I've made two further recolors based on Ray's guitars, they both work with the Les Paul mesh and colours are changed the same way as described as above.
03/01/2007 UPDATED: Atavera's guitars are back up in a seperate post so I'm no longer hosting the meshes. He made many other models of guitar as well - check them out as well as his other hacks, it's not at all guitar related but his toddler blanket is amazing! :D
