The keys wasn't working for me. I did have them on lock but I found I had the smart door hack loaded on my game that I got here from MTS2 a few years back and it was made by tunafish. Do they conflict? Also I had a hack for the mye door that had keys as well that I got from here too. |

Does the smartdoor say it is a global hack? If so it might conflict. Are you sure you locked the door to "me only"? Anyway sometimes sims ignore the locking, specially if they are trying to throw something away in the trash compactor or put a plate in the dishwasher. Hi there I am not sure if this is a problem with this mod or not. But my neighbours seem to just walk into my house uninvited. When i lock the door to allow household only, they have a hissy fit outside my front door. Would be grateful for you thoughts on this and if you think that the problem is with this mod. Many thanks |

By the way, if you edit your post, you can also change whether it is thanks or feedback. Anyway, the problem you reported, is it when you don't have the door locked at all that it does that? Is there a home business on the lot or is it a normal home? Do you know for sure this only started happening after installing this patch? Do you have any other hacks relating to doors? |

I had to get my sim to go out and say goodbye before she would leave. I will take out the mod and see what happens. If it still does the same i will know it isn't your mod. I will let you know either way what happens. Thanks for you mod and assistance.

So you're saying if you do lock the door, the sim stays outside, but if you don't lock it then they come in without even being greeted? |

I have a question Inge? Does the direction that the arrow on the door face still matter? Or can you just throw a door up with the arrow pointing either way?

what exactly makes it conflict with other security systems? Most of them are quite simple: first they process their own checks, then they let maxis code run. And that way, it is most likely: if (Maxis allows AND security system allows AND key patch allows) then door open else door locked (sorry speaking in semi-code, but I thought it reached the point best=). |

Because in all cases, all these hacks begin with a change to the portal function test, which is just one BHAV. The game can only run one version of the BHAV, meaning if you have Pescado's APO, my apartment control system, and this patch all installed it will be pot luck what your doors do. |

Um um, im not that sim-literate... but didn't the locking doors from maxis come in Pets? Is that why it's not working for you? I'll try it in my game... i have pets, OFB, university, holiday stuff, and family fun stuff. |

YAY! It worked in my game (pets but no seasons) i havent checked it in a buisness yet, but i will soon. And thank you, thank you! This door let me create a locked passageway to the underground tunnels!! |

I believe that telepathy is turned off by default since about OFB. My original locking doors and the SmartDoor were cloned off from doors earlier than that, so they missed out on the anti-telepathy code. I retro-added it to my lockable doors but I believe Tuna had already retired by then. This patch will not be as reliable as my actual locking doors, because the Maxis locking still appears to allow sims through under certain circumstances, like when an action is an automatic followon to another - like putting the plate they just ate off into the dishwasher. If you want 100% locking reliability (but without any Pets features) then use a door from my actual lockable range. The benefit of those is also that the locking is one-way so any "wrong" sims that are in the room can still leave the room after you lock it. With the two way locking you can't do it until after all the wrong sims have left or they get trapped. |

I locked it for all sims. Still the Nannies passed the door alone or carrying the babies and toddlers to and from the kitchen. Just like I wnted it to bee. Without the door the parents were totally obsessed by nursing the babies. They didn't eat, sleep, pee and shower properly. The drawback was that the parents lost their relations with the babies and later also the toddlers. I selected some of the parents as keyholders and that worked too. What I miss from Smartdoor is that: I can't order a sim to enter the room with locked door. I can't set the number of sims allowed in the room att the same time. OK I will now check on a EP1, EP2, EP3, EP4 installation. Thank you. |

I already posted this, but it's not coming up on my screen, so sorry if you see it twice; It seemed to work fine at the house i tried it in. (I have pets, OFB, uni, holiday stuff, family fun stuff. I dont have nightlife or seasons) New; Hey! It works on gates, too! I'm playing a buisness, and the gate & door both have options to lock like normal. Sorry, I didn't test that part, my sim was in the taxi when i thought to check. Hope this helps! And thanks so much for making the mod! |

Sorry but the text in the pie menus refered to is translated from another language. Edit: After reading your description AFTER makeing the test I now see what you mean. It's the second method that I am supposed to use. So if I unlock a door I have to find one of the keyholders to lock it again with Lock/Only me. How do I find the right sim to lock the door if only the first has access to the door and I unlock it? That one is not in the list of keyholders. If I have 10 or more doors to keep track of it will not be as easy as the first method. And the first method works in Seasons. I never used the Lock/Only me there. Or did I....? Edit: Sorry, my mistake. I went back to the Seasons test bench and now it works the same in both testbenches. I must have clicked on Lock/only me by mistake. And now I know more how it is supposed to work. I can use both test cases but in the first test case I need to activate the keyholder selection by selecting Lock/Only me either by a fifth sim selected or one of the keyholders. Sorry for this but now it's carefully tested anyway. The gender function also is tested. Thank you again for this mod. |
