March 8, '08 Update:
I added a file that properly unlocks the eyepatches along with the hats and costume. No more clunky Bodyshop clones or CC asterisks, yay! Please replace the old unlocker mod and eyepatch "recolours" with the new "UPDATED" version.
Here's a little mod to make the Bon Voyage pegleg pirate costume, hats, and eyepatchs available in CAS and in-game.
You can put the "fanseelamb_unlocked-BV-pirate-hat-n-pegleg-outfit.package" file in your Downloads folder, but if you do, the delete button will be enabled in Body Shop and CAS. Do NOT delete Maxis content from Body Shop or CAS.
Doing so may corrupt your game files. To hide these items again, delete my package file from your Downloads folder. If you don't trust yourself to not delete them in Body Shop, make a subfolder in the following location and put the file there instead of in your Downloads folder. This way the delete button will be disabled.
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 YOUR LATEST EP\TSData\Res\Catalog\Skins
(or the corresponding folder on your system if your game is not in C:\Program Files)
This issue only affects the hats and pegleg costume, which have no cc asterisk and appear with the Maxis content in the catalog. The eyepatchs are normal recolours that can be placed in your Downloads folder and deleted any time.
Normal Bodyshop recolours with CC asterisk, safe to delete. Find them in the Glasses section of CAS or mirrors. Available to YA, Adult, & Elder males only. There are 2 files, the original Maxis brown & black eyepatchs.
Pegleg Costume Info:
No CC asterisk. Available to YA & Adult males only, Everyday Only. Do not delete from Bodyshop or CAS!
Colour-Binned, no CC asterisk. Don't delete in Bodyshop or CAS! Available to YA, Adult, & Elder sims of both genders. The female hat might require Seasons - it's flagged as a Seasons hat in the game although I don't remember seeing it before BV - so please report back how it works for you. Also, for some odd reason the hat doesn't appear in the Elder Female bin, but if your sim is wearing it as an adult she'll keep it when she ages into an elder. I dunno, it's odd... it should work the same as the male hat but doesn't. If you notice a glaring error I missed, please report that too. I don't have enough elders to fret about it at the moment.
Big thanks to the creators of SimPE, and to Morague
whose past unlocked outfits were both helpful and inspiring.
