This is a Maxis Recolour which means that it is a recolour of an item that already exists in your game. Please check the Expansion pack requirements to see which game pack it recolours.
This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS2 - check the sidebar.
This is a new mesh recolour, and means that you will need to download the particular mesh itself in order for this to show up in your game. See the Meshes Needed section or read the text for more information.
My original intent when I created my standing consoles was to make them "operable" somehow. I thought about it for a while, but I couldn't come up with anything. Since the consoles are cloned from surfaces, in with the sitting consoles an invisible computer can be placed in the slot and it looks like the sim is operating the console.
So I mentioned it to StephSim (co-creator, good friend, and all-around excellent human being) She suggested an invisible table phone, but it didn't work exactly the way it was supposed to. Then she suggested cloning the Uni arcade game. I tried it and it worked. I had to redo the original meshes and texture maps a bit, but that part was child's play. I was never quite happy with the original shape of the Galaxy Class security station, so I redid it. I made Ops and Helm stations (this time cloned from 1x1 tables) to match. I remeshed them so they fit the footprint a bit better and redid the texture maps.
So there you have it. 13 objects: 2 1x1 tables, an invisible computer, and 10 arcade games.
