Geneticized! Purplepaws' Maxis Match Skintones

This is a Maxis Recolour which means that it is a recolour of an item that already exists in your game. Please check the Expansion pack requirements to see which game pack it recolours.
I have a guilty secret. I like the cartoony Maxis textures.

So I love the Maxis Match skintones made by Purplepaws. They fit very nicely between the Maxis skintones, and not long after I got them I geneticized them so that they work just like the Maxis skintones.

Well, here it is, quite a while later, and I've noticed that there are several people in the original thread asking if Purplepaws is willing to geneticize her skintones. (I guess I'm not the only one with a guilty secret.) So I asked Purplepaws if she would mind if I uploaded the geneticized versions, and she gave permission. (She also gave me permission to cannibalize her awesome skintone-comparison picture.)

So here they are:

You can see the genetic values of the Maxis skintones (.1, .3, .6, and .9), and that I have placed each of the Maxis Match skintones right between them.

If you currently have Purplepaws' non-geneticized versions of these skintones and want to replace them with these, it's easy. I've kept the Family IDs the same, so replacement won't mess up the genetics of your Sims at all. (This also means, however, that you should not use both versions, as they will conflict.) However, I have changed the file names so that they show the genetic value, so you can't just overwrite the old files.

Purplepaws original files had these names:
  • Strawberrypatch_doublelightskin_040606.package
  • Strawberrypatch_lighttanskin_040606.package
  • Strawberrypatch_tanmediumskin_040606.package
  • Strawberrypatch_mediumdarkskin_040606.package
  • Strawberrypatch_doubledarkskin_040606.package

For easy identification in CAS and Body Shop, I've also made sure the tooltips are the same as the (new) filenames.

Now, since 99.9% of the effort that went into these files isn't mine, the policies attached to them are not mine but those of Purplepaws. Anything you were allowed to do with the originals, you are allowed to do with these. Likewise, anything you were not allowed to do with the originals, you may not do with these.

You must have the expansion or stuff packs listed below installed to use this custom content. Please see the post text for any exceptions.

No wonder! I'm assuming the same is true for this download as of late? They are beautiful skintones though... wish I could get to them. Tried for two hours.

These really look like awesome skins...I really wish I could use them! The download window just keeps saying "starting..." without making any progress when I try to download them...did you delete these skins? Or maybe they disappeared in MTS2's crash? If they did, could you please upload them? Thanks!!

So is this default or not? Cuz I can't understand a few words (Usually I do... odd.) and plus, I like non-defaults. A PM would be nice, since usually I don't go to find my old comments at a thread.
Thanks anyways, once I get the chance, I'll download!

Cool! I like maxis style too, and i'm glad you did yours based on maxis skintone.
I get bored easily with defaults replacements.

Well first, thank you so much for doing this! I love the Maxis tones too :P.

For everyone who wants these to support werewolves, I found this fix,6098.0.html on MATY which is in testing so you'll want to be careful, but hopefully it will work (I'm not sure...I haven't played yet with it). For aqualectrix, there seems to be a how-to on making custom tones compatible if your interested (i.e. pleeeease?) if you scroll down a bit.

These are AWESOME! Admittedly I have Defaults for the skins but they're fairly similar to maxis so I think it'll work.

I don't know why these weren't more popular with the maxis-match crowd, I love em!
