In a classic "duhhhhh" moment, I tried to have a Sim use the auto call feature, using the old version of the mod, and realized it didn't work. I had the Sim pick up the phone. He or she would get another Sim, get the "jump" interaction, then get ... nothing. And at one point, the Sim was trying to call a dog!
The embarrassing part is that I have up to only the Seasons expansion, which means this problem was probably going on at least since then. Probably earlier, after seeing that "talking dog" attempt! I bought Seasons early last YEAR. And for some reason, I never paid attention to the auto call feature not working. (In all honesty, I almost always play Sims with families or SOs, and go to community lots often, so my Sims usually often interact with other Sims and get their friend requirements that way. The Sim I was using in the first paragraph was one of my few "loner" Sims.) Talk about my being clueless!
Anyway, with this mod, my loners can get their quick friendship points; plus, there are a few extra benefits. Thanks for updating this mod!
EDIT ... I had originally posted a very long PS describing a problem after installing this mod. For some reason, on one lot, every time I entered it, the computer kept shutting off and restarting. Just the one lot! That was the strange part. I thought I had a hypothesis as to why, but the hypothesis proved to be false.
I have now come to conclusion that there is absolutely NO definite proof that this mod was responsible for this really bizarre occurrence. (It was bizarre because the computer often restarted several minutes into playing the lot ... in one case, a half-hour into playing it! Sometimes, though, it restarted immediately.) As a precaution, though, I've deleted the groups.cache file and the thumbnail. I moved the Sim into another house and demolished the lot. Sometimes, I find that occasionally, both Maxis and custom lots wind up glitched for the most stupid reasons!
In addition to these precautions, I also am checking to see if someone on this computer downloaded a program with an auto-update feature, or one that doesn't play nice with The Sims, since I know that those can freak out a computer while playing the game, as well.
I'm still testing this Sim, have done so a few times now, and am keeping my fingers crossed. But if anyone does run into any problems while replacing ANY new modded object, they might want to regenerate new groups.cache and object thumbnail files and delete and replace the object. I had a different problem with another modded object, was advised to do this, and this seemed to have fixed the problem.
