small fix - see section below
When the Nightlife Expansion Pack brought us "Thirsty" the bath mat I was very happy. "It's about time there was something like this," I thought, since my sloppy Sims were making a real mess of their bathrooms and, of course being sloppy, they generally don't take too kindly to being told to mop up their mess afterwards. If they just left the puddle where it was and another, probably Neat, Sim mops it up for them, then there's the problem that they will be annoyed at having to clean up after their Sloppy housemate. I was so dissappointed when I realised that this bath mat was an imposter - it didn't drink up the puddles at all - it was just a decorative rug!

So, I bring you real "Thirsty" bath mats - "the Thirstiest Bath Mats". A set of bathroom mats that do get rid of the puddles your sloppy Sims create when taking a shower.

This set includes three new objects from me,
  • 1x1 Bath/Shower Mat
  • 2x1 Bath/Shower Mat
  • Corner Shower Mat
and a modification to an object that those of you who have the Freetime EP can use - if you don't have Freetime, you needn't bother downloading this one out of the four, it won't work for you.
  • "Bathroommate footrug" (toilet pedestal shaped rug)
The whole set has been made to match the colours and textures of the "Bathroommate footrug".

All four objects have been created/modified to get rid of puddles on and around the mat. These puddles might appear due to sloppy Sim showering; leaks due to blocked toilets and broken taps; puddles from toddlers playing in the toilet, or in fact any other puddle that ends up created one way or another. I learned a lot about Puddles in making these objects. You will still see puddles forming, however with one of these mats in place, the puddles will soon shrink and disappear. It can take between 15 and 40 Sim minutes for the puddle to notice it has been told to disappear and actually do it.

Here are some puddle maps to show where puddles are cleared from the bathroom floor.

This set of objects can be found in Decorative - Rugs

Cheers
Mog

  • Fixed a bug which only shows up when you have testing cheats enabled which causes an error when a Sim is trying to mop up a puddle which the mat is trying to evaporate. Doesn't actually cause an issue without testing cheats enabled, so I don't believe it is necessary to redownload, but wanted to fix it for any new downloaders.

Polygon Counts:
  • 1x1 Bath/Shower Mat - Faces=28, Vertices=22
  • 2x1 Bath/Shower Mat - Faces=52, Vertices=56
  • Corner Shower Mat - Faces=300, Vertices=242
  • "Bathroommate footrug" - Faces=4, Vertices=8 (as per Maxis Object)
