Thank you for these! If you're inclined to make more, how about some lighter recolors? Yellow, light blue, mint, pink, orange, violet, maybe?

I've been getting bunches of your stuff and have noticed that it's not compressed. You can get jfade's Compressorizer here. Scroll down, it's below Wardrobe Wrangler. It's very easy to use, just pick a directory, it compresses all package files in that directory (and subdirectories if you click Recursive). That way, we save disk space and have room for more of your downloads.

You're welcome . I did attempt some greater colour variation but it seems dramatically lightening a black texture without compromising quality is beyond my skills at the moment! I'd definitely upload another set when I figured out how to do it (feel free to share some tips!)

I had the Compressorizer when it first came out (before I started creating) and I found it made my game lag really bad...

Mikexx2 Well, since you asked, here's what I usually do to lighten... Numbers may vary, but technique's the same. Do you use PhotoShop or GIMP? I use GIMP. For this dress, I took your red dress since it had some nice highlights. You should start with a Maxis original, but I was lazy.

Tools menu, Color Tools

Hue / Saturation
* Lightness 18 or maybe 0, don't recall...
* Saturation 0

Brightness / Contrast Tool
* brightness 0
* contrast 100

You'll note the texture now looks very grainy and pixelated. Smooth it out by hand with the smudge tool or by handpainting. Yes, this is tedious. The effort will pay off when you have a nice grey texture to start from...

Now that you have a nicely contrasting grey texture, add color with the Colorize tool. When you first colorize, it will look very dark and horrible, but turn up the saturation and brightness, and it will look nice.

Colorize
* hue 340 (pink/purple)
* saturation 75 (medium strong saturation, for nice deep color)
* lightness 45 (lightened to get a pink, not a purple)

Got a nice pink, but the contrast was too low...

Brightness / Contrast
* brightness 0
* contrast 70

Okay contrast, but too red now...

Hue / Saturation
* hue -17 (bluer)
* saturation 0
* lightness 0

Also, you should smudge the leg shadow a bit and add some noise to it or you get stripey shadow. Hrm, I just noticed all the shadows on your red dress are red too. You want to make the shadows a separate layer, so they stay black.

Not that I don't like dark colors, I just like light ones too.

update If you want my smoothed grey image to make more recolors with, feel free. I put it in a *.psd file (PhotoShop or GIMP) with shadows, some shoes, and a few colors I played with. I don't plan to upload them, so if you want to, go ahead, or change them, or toss them, whatever.

Here's what the pink dress turned out like. I forgot to take a picture of your pink dress next to it, so take my word for it that it is lighter.

Thanks for the thorough tips. I've just downloaded your colours and like them a lot! If/when I ever do anything else with this mesh and I use any part of your work, I'll credit you of course.
