Bobbling, hope you dont mind but I borrowed your career as a base for mine. I am making a enlisted naval one and when finished hope to do a officer one that is for grads only. I was a Quarter Master so I have patterned it after that rate.

Dear Lyn. Perhaps you don't know everything that has ever happend in Iraq. Maybe, just maybe.

I have been reading the news everyday. I, along with a few people on this post, either are enlisted, or know those who are currently serving.

Where is this brainwashing going on that you speak of? What are they brainwashing troops to do, exactly? And how do you know everything you are simply reading is true? Where is your proof?

When was Bobbling forcing his oppinion on someone... anyone? He wrote something he believes in his own, personal signature. He was not telling someone they are not fit for living, he wasn't even talking.

Dear Bobbling, Hoo Ah. =)

P.S. Air Force career would just be super :P

Hey man, if they let woman into the frontlines, you would be looking at an Army Ranger patch as my avatar instead of just one of the most gorgeous planes ever :lovestruc:. I've always wanted to be a sniper... but I guess i'll have to stick with being an airy fairy :agree:

But on another note.. A military academy would be awesome. I have a few teens who could use boot camp! :D

... the BBC, unbiased? Then why'd British soldiers aboard the HMS Ark Royal (R07) change the channel in favor of Sky News?

Btw, love the career.

As a U.S.Navy Corpsman I was stationed at Beaufort Naval Hospital in Beautiful -=snickers=- Beaufort South Carolina. During my two years there I served at the Branch Clinic on Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Paris Island South Carolina.... and I can say with some certainty that the USMC did not brainwash recruits... They did turn sniveling little snot nose punks into Men and Women who deserve respect and admiration for their dedication to the precepts of freedom... A person who is not willing to fight for their freedom doesn't deserve it. If you don't think freedom is worth fighting for go live in a country that doesn't have the basic freedoms and rights people take for granted in this country... the freedom we enjoy was paid for with the blood of men and women who were willing to give their lives so that others might live free. Please show others willing to give their lives for freedom some respect. And with that said those people who engaged in activities unsanctioned by their chain of command such as killing innocent unarmed people are not fighting for freedom they are psychopaths who use the military as an excuse to do something they would do anyway... our jails are full of people like them... the military doesn't make them what they are... in fact a lot of psychopaths in our instutitions were never in the military... but they are far more depraved than you realise....

EDIT: one more thing... there are people in countries other than the US who deserve just as much respect and admiration for their dedication to freedom.
Anyone willing to die so that someone else can be free deserves to be treated with respect and a whole lot more.

BTW Thank you for this career Bobbling... I might have to try my hand at this as well... and make a Navy Medic Career, since they get seperated from the regular navy and serve with the Marines too.

Trivia point. The U.S.Marine Corps is the only force the President can mobilize into combat without Congressional Approval.... the exception to this being U.S.Navy Hospital Corpsman.... because anywhere you find a Marine... you can be sure a Corpsman isn't far away...

Bobbling, I know you said you would be fixing the carpool problem, but I just wanted to say that I'm definitely experiencing that. Otherwise, this is a great career - thanks for sharing it with us!

Bobbling,

Thanks for the effort. I'm a former Marine (once allways, there are no X-Marines) & hope you can finish this. I am alittle late to this, but have been trying this out for the past week. Here are my notes so far & a few on past posts.

1. An enlisted man can appsoluitly become an officer, it's rare & I did.
2. Only a former enlisted man becomes a warrent. I don't know the statis now, but in my day there were only 33 of them active. It was a tridition, so I dought it changed.
3. My sim made it to MstSgt (known as Top) then the car pool quit.
4. You have LCpl as a squad leader, only if alot of marines are non-funcinal. Sgt is the usually. You could have it like this- PFC as a SAW (squad automatic wepond) opperator, a body requirment. LCpl as a Grenider. Also non-NCO (non cominshened officer) should have cleaning requirements. We did alot of cleaning, gear, weponds, area...
5. Not jr.O's, from Cpl up to SgtMaj are know as NCO's. With NCO clubs & Staff NCO clubs (SSgt to SgtMaj). All are only guests in O clubs.
6. Cpl's are fire team leaders. & again Sgt's as squad leaders, not 30 man, maybe 12 to 15.
7. SSgt could be a good 1 for scout/sniper or PLT Guide or DI.
8. GySgt are usually in charge of company HQ (top E in Co) or DI or recuiters.
9. MstSgt is a tecinal type same pay grade as 1stSgt grunt type who usually is the top NCO in a batallion. This is as far as I went, so far.
10. The next pay grade (the highest for E's) there are 3- Master Gunnery Sgt. tec type. SgtMaj grunt type & Sargent Major of the Marine Corps (top E in the Corps, there is only 1).
11. The next group, the Warrent Officers are all called Marine Gunner or just Gunner not to be confused with Gunny-GySgt. WO-1 then CWO-2 to CWO-5 C=chief.
12. Never call any Marine a soldier! (as in 30-soldier unit)
13. Don't have NCO'c or SNCO's as commanders save that for the O's.
14. Also save astronaut for the O's. Major would be nice, like in John Glenn, Marine, Astronaut (selected as a Maj) & Senator.

I hope some of this helps you out. I'll do more after I get to the rest, if you like. Sorry for any spelling mistakes. I can do all maner of calculations in my head (balistic, thrist to weight, fuel consumption, ect...) but can't spell to save my life. Maybe why I only made Captain.

Thanks again, hope to have been some help. Good Luck.

screw the air force and the army. the air force really does have it to easy, and the army has a smaller budget than the hobo under my floor boards (he still has to pay rent you know)

Has the carpool issue been resolved yet? Great job on it!

And anyone who bashes the military in general... stick it in your pipe and smoke it. My great grandfather was a Marine, my grandfather was in the Army. The Marines do NOT brainwash people. Give me 3 substantiated medical reports of brainwashing and I might buy it. Most Marines would rather die than shoot an innocent child, you ninny.

Anyway, now that I've ranted... JROTC would be WONDERFUL, I was in JROTC and it was the best 2 years of my life. (Got in late, had to leave out early when I got pregnant with my daughter.)

You can keep your knight in shining armor. I'll take my country boy in turn-out gear!

I have all expensions and when I installed this career path my game would load but once I tried to enter a lot it would freeze up. I was really looking forward to using this career path for my fiance, he is Corporal! I think that the career path should also be split into Enlisted and Warrent Officer and Officer. It just seems more realistic that way. Any help would be appreciated... Thanks!

Is anyone still working on this? it is extremely frustrating that the carpool stops after Master Sergeant.

As a former Marine (Cpl, 1990-1998), I find quite a few comments here from those who've never even served in the Marine Corps to be quite amusing.

What exactly do you think happens in bootcamp? They break us down to build us back up in the image of a Marine. That, in and of itself, is a form of brainwashing. Just not the type of brainwashing you all are thinking of.

But enough of that. This was about a career mod, not whether one service is better than another. Especially since most all of us knows at least one person who either served, is serving or will serve in one branch or another to protect our Freedoms, such as they may be.
