Tired of having sims sleep for ten hours, but don't want to have beds that are all magically comfortable and make your sims feel good?
Are you terrified by the tyranny of cushiness? Pontificating the point of panbedual prettiness?
Do you just want a mod that makes all beds equal and great at increasing your sims' energy, but still want to let your sims know that some beds are MORE equal than others?
Science is here to help. With a global energy delta of 1.5 for all beds (0.14 greater than the alternative!) your sims will sleep for about 7 hours, but with the miracle of lower comfort and poorly constructed springs, sims can still experience the magic of sore backs.
The RTFM in the archive has the information on how to install, but people like reading things twice, so here: put it where you put other package mods, i.e., under ..\Mods\Packages\ in your TS3 base game directory.
Compatible with AwesomeWare and any other XML tuning mods that do not directly modify bed statistics. Will NOT work with Nightie's mod, either you want to cheat or you want things to make sense and use this one.
HAY GUYZ!!1 This is probably COMPATIBLE with WA/1.6.6. I personally do not have them as my computer has mysteriously begun refusing to run TS3, but I have read people's "these mods work with my WA/1.6.6" readouts and this and my others were included.

It works with Awesomeware, probably works with teen woohoo, and works with all beds currently in the game (including store items).

Yesss  Thanks for answering, having the compatibility confirmation rocks! What a useful mod, thank you so much! My sims were driving me mad by sleeping so much and having to always use the most expensive bed is so limiting ^^
I guess that if the teen woohoo mod is updated to include the teens able to sleep in the same bed, your mod might be incompatible, no? Oh well, we'll see but anyway I'll just keep the old version of the TW to keep your mod.

I'd rather doubt it, unless the TW mod mentions modification of energy deltas. I don't have the mod in my game (I'm waiting for more polish, if I'm ever going to use it), but AFAIK those are different areas. I'm modding stats, TW would be modding availability.

I'm assuming that if this is working properly, the tooltips for all of the beds should show the same energy gains for all beds? Or does it not change the tooltip?
The tooltips didn't change for me, so I'm not sure if it's working or not. ._.?

Much needed mod. Thanks for the release.
I was tired to have to place the same expensive bed eveywhere just to allow the sims to have a reasonable rest without spending all day sleeping
Exactly as you say in the RTFM, any bed gives the same sleep but a bad mattress makes the backache. I second you here. From my experience IRL a very good mattress even makes sleep longer than a bad one because pain don't wake you

Thanks for making this mod, I hate when my sims get low energy levels if they stay up longer than 12 hours in one day...it makes me annoyed how much they sleep, ahhhh.. lol

Probably! I don't have WA or patch 1.6.6 (waiting for Awesome to catch up), but I can't imagine they'd add some XML-overriding override. Somebody reported that my other mod(s) worked, so this one likely does.
To the other questions: it does not update the displayed energy values in-game, just like changing the energy of TS2 beds didn't (as far as I can remember). You will know it is working when your sims are no longer sleeping for 12 hours, but a more reasonable 7-8 or so. It works with store beds, as they refer to the values of non-store beds for certain things, as far as I can tell.

cazelfax, you said your computer is mysteriously refusing to run TS3 - did you recently updated an Nvidia driver? I updated to the newest one and my TS3 wouldn't run. reinstalled the previous driver, game ran fine. got the new expansion so I updated my driver, same thing all over again.

 Basic Download and Install Instructions:
1. Download: Click the download link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.
2. Extract: Use WinRAR (Windows) or Stuffit (Mac) to extract the .package file(s) from the .rar or .zip file(s).
3. Place any .package files you extract in your Sim 3 Mods\Packages folder. (The Sims 3 is usually installed in C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\, so you'll place files in C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages). See the FAQ below for more information.
4. Note that any Sims3Pack files can just be double clicked on and they will install using the EA Launcher.
