Love, lemmy&binky LATEST VERSION: 0.5a INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS - PLEASE READ: * Requires EA Sims 3 patch 1.27 * On PC requires Delphy's Framework Install Monkey For Dummies installed, or on Mac this installer: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=349349 needed to run this mod. * BACK UP YOUR TOWN with the copy town button on main town selection screen. * Copy both IndieStoneMod.package and IndieStoneCore.package to your Sims 3\Mods\Packages directory. * If the mod fails to activate, you may need to delete the scriptCache.package from Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 to get The Sims 3 to recognise the mod. * Try running this to make sure there are no compatibilities with this mod and another. * Run the game. *Mod is configurable via your cell phone. NOW COMPATIBLE WITH AWESOME MOD - READ HERE FOR DETAILS IMPORTANT: Since this is only the first test release, and the mod is still very much in its infancy, we plan to add a lot more to the Story Progression simulation. While we feel it's results are a lot better than the default Story Progression, we still have a way to go, especially with such systems as the Career simulation and schools, as well as adding more personalities to give the town more character. We can't guarantee that Sims won't make odd decisions from time to time at this stage, though they should do so SIGNIFICANTLY less than with current Story Progression. Subsequent releases will gain more in-depth simulation of the Sim's lives. EXTRA IMPORTANT: This is an alpha release so ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR TOWN BEFORE YOU START PLAY. While it seems pretty stable on our PCs, we cannot guarantee it is not possible for it to destroy your save file, so back-up your beloved Sims before trying it! MAIN FEATURES: * A completely new optional Story Progression system replacement that is scaled by the lifespan setting of your sims, so 25 days and 500 days will have exactly the same speed of progression and amount of events in the town. Without any single parent births, the system can consistently preserve the town population and allow families to propagate many many generations, even on 25 day lifespan, without just dying out or moving away. Perfect for wolfing runs! * Everything in the mod is totally configurable from your cell phone: ![]() * All your options will be saved with your town: ![]() - You can globally set your progression settings, or on a household to household basis. Want all the town's career to progress except your two custom families? Or turn off just emigration and immigration across the entire town? Now you can pick and choose all the progression settings as you like. - You can set default settings for all new families that move into town or you place yourself. * Neighbourhood updates. Instead of having to gossip you receive updates on stories and goings on in the town during the day. ![]() - Neighbourhood updates are fully configurable, so you can specify what type of updates you want, and whether you hear from just your friends or the entire town. ![]() - Click on the portrait of a character in the update to instantly zoom to their location. * Sims choose jobs based on their traits, not randomly, and their success is based on their traits and is not random. So an unlucky slob is likely to get fired repeatedly where a workaholic genius will be more likely to rise the ranks. ![]() ![]() * Personalities. Characters with specific personalities, traits, lifetime wishes etc may be picked from the existing townsfolk to fulfil certain town roles, from evil land baron to local hussy, and they will behave as such to give the town a bit of personality and you will hear about their goings on in neighbourhood updates. The town hussy will be breaking hearts left right and centre while the local thug will be starting fights with people, the school bully will be picking on the computer whiz's and the aging rock star will be holding wild parties at his mansion. Make sure you raise your kids right, otherwise they could grow up to be the next town thug if they get bad traits and move out into the world. ![]() ![]() * Wolfing Run Mode If you create a single Sim with the surname 'Wolfrun', he will be immortal, his motives will never degrade and there will be no household bills to worry about. Sit him down in front of the TV and he will contently sit there FOREVER. This will allow the rest of the town to progress on high speed indefinitely to allow your population to go through several generations without opportunity pop ups or 'waking up' time slowdowns events. * Progression Speed Set the speed that progression events occur. Normal speed is what we will balance toward, but if you'd prefer more, or less, progression events, then you can configure that too! ![]() * Immigrate from Bin * Option that makes immigrant Sim families genetically descended from three random Sims in your Export Bin (two paired off and the result paired off with the third). The Sims will still be counted as new families though, and will not have any lineage in the family tree outside their own family, as with normal immigrants. Options are ALWAYS, SOMETIMES, or NEVER. Defaults to NEVER. OTHER TWEAKS AND FIXES * Sims may choose double-barrelled names when marrying. ![]() * Put your Sims back into CAS using your mobile phone (if cheats are enabled) * Bills will automatically be paid instead of showing the 'one more day to pay' warning. * Facial Slider Hack! Must have features from other core mods that no one can live without: * No losing wishes on household change. Thanks Pescado! * No inventory purges on household change. *Note inventories may still not last indefinitely but should be ok for a few days away* Thanks Pescado! * Better genetic skin blending on children. Thanks to Pescado! * No tantrums on route fail. Thanks to Pescado! KNOWN TEST VERSION ISSUES: - The system is so successful at pairing people off, sometimes it can be much more difficult to find single people for your active Sims to romance. Until we balance this better, try setting 'relationships' setting progression for several households to off if you would like to keep them single for your Sims, or just take someone who is taken, of course - Marriages and babies may happen too fast at the moment. The priority was sustaining the population. We'll look into pulling it back to 'the minimum that still keeps families going' as we get feedback. ![]() - Requires Sims 1.2.7 patch installed to run, sorry those who won't/can't patch the game, but we can't maintain two versions unfortuantely - Not all text variations are in, so some alerts are lacking in variety> More event text needs to be written for all events, and typos are possible in this version. This will be an ongoing thing through development until there is plenty of variation. - Some of the characters need some fleshing out, or are disabled, so these are strictly 'experimental' at the moment. - If you get anything saying 'Exception:' print as an alert, take a screen grab if possible and send us it (lemmy101[at]gmail.com or captain.binky[at]gmail.com) and we'll get to the bottom of it. If this happens save your game and reload, and they should be gone. While they are displaying Story Progression is not running, so don't leave them if you spot them. - After long sessions of running some thumbnail pictures of exclamation marks will show up instead of the sim's pic, not sure why yet.
