*COMPATIBILITY: These contacts are compatible with World Adventures as well as the base game.
~~~FIXED - PLEASE RE-DOWNLOAD: I've now fixed the problem with the eyes temporarily turning into a costume mask while bathing. Please redownload and many apologies for any annoyance!~~~
Thanks to Wintermuteai1's great tutorial (
http://nene.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=358457) and the research done by Xanathon (
http://www.modthesims.info/showthre...#startcomments), we can now have non-default eyes as contacts cloned from the Costume Makeup object. So I had to rush right off and make some Sci-Fi style ones for myself, and I hope you'll find these useful for your own Sci-Fi or fantasy creations too.
This set consists of:
Solid black eyes, such as those sported by the aliens in The Sims 2 - I've already made myself a Pollination Tech #9 for TS3 as he was my favourite built-in character in TS2!
Solid red eyes, great for your laser-sighted aliens/robots and suchlike.
Solid white eyes, good for zombies and other creepy white-eyed characters.
Lizard eyes - good for unearthly humanoid lizardmen, dragons and other scaly creatures.
These will all be found in the Costume Makeup category. NOTE: FOR ALL EYES, YOU NEED TO GO INTO THE 'CREATE A STYLE' PANEL AND SET ALL THREE COLOURS TO WHITE. Otherwise, they will all look black.
Solid black eyes and solid red eyes. You can recolour the red eyes to change the colour of the sclera, such as the below black-sclera example, for a different red-eyed effect, by changing the colours of the bottom two of the three colours in the Create a Style panel:
Lizard eyes and white eyes:
The white eyes can be recoloured in the Create a Style panel, the sclera and the iris/pupil area separately, by playing around with the three colour changers. Some really interesting looks are possible:
*EDIT*: In response to a question by a member, yes, the lizard eyes are recolourable too - I didn't think to try, as I'd intended to just use them as is! See attached new screenshot for how they look recoloured - the only colours that really work well are green and red. The green ones were made by setting all three colours to the lightest green in the pre-set colour buttons, and the red ones by setting all three to the second-lightest red button, which comes out orangey but using a darker shade makes them too dense-looking.
I've made these compatible with both genders and all ages, so you can have freakish men, women, children, teens, and toddlers.
To see how they look in-game, I chose a random selection of nice normal Sim Bin sims and turned them into a family of freaks. Here we have a granny, a teenage boy, a little girl and a toddler boy:
INSTALLATION:
Just copy the .package files to your Mods\Packages folder. Each eye is in its own separate package, so you can choose whether to install all of them or just one or two.
If you don't have a Mods\Packages folder and/or don't know how to install .package files, please see full instructions here:
http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php...g_Package_Files
Thanks for looking and I hope you'll find these useful for your freakish Sims!
