Thank you SO much for this, Delphy!

However, I have only one problem with this: When I extract the .package files into Mods/Packages, it makes my game run soooooooo slowly. It's really annoying, since I want to download a lot of things for the game, but it doesn't run that fast, even if I extract ONE thing. Is there any way that I can fix this problem?

Shamrockette, Thats not a problem with the extractor. Thats a problem with the specific package files. Theres an entire thread over in Help about that.

Story books are full of fairy tales, of Kings and Queens, and the bluest skies.

Hi Delphy, I've been using your Sims 3 Pack Multi-Extracter a zillion times now (always successfully) but this morning, I tried it on the sims3pack of a sim I'd like to share on MTS, and it gave me 3 package files instead of one. What's up with that? O.O

Thanks!

Neighboorhood messed up
Hi Delphy, I'm having a very strange problem. I'm not 100% sure it's your program causing it but after I extracted the files to the packages folder and loaded my game, the neighboorhood was messed up. All my store stuff finally showed up thanks to your program but is it possible that my new problem is related to it? I took a screenshot of it.

This happened when I tried to extract Riverview with a different program. I don't think that it is the programs' fault, precisely. I think certain sims3packages contain different file types that the extractors can't handle. Something to look into.

What you can do to fix your game is to simply remove the extracted files. Your game will return to normal, with the buildings above ground.

You are my hero, I run a Mac and I couldn't get the stuff I got from the sims store to install. It said it was there, but when I loaded the game, nothing. With this, it works!!!

I haven't had problems with it yet, but if I do, I can let you know, since I am on Mac OSX Snow Leopard.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!

Just started playing Sims 2 again after a very, very, veryyyy long time!

I'm working with windows 7 64 bit and it worked great after i clicked run as administrator. Thank you so much Delphy without this i would still be struggling with custom content in .sims3pack files.

Delphy, you are absolutely amazing! Every single time I need something, it seems like you have already thought about it and provided the perfect thing. You saved me from chucking my sims 3 disks into the shredder and swearing off EA permanently! Thanks so much!

I just used the program to install my sims 3 custom content from the sims3.com exchange, "(documents/electronic arts/sims 3/downloads)" instead of the launcher. I had several worlds and lots in there as well, which were exchange items too. they began as "simscc" files, but when I ran the program and went into the folder to take a look, I now have a bunch of files with random numbers and letters, and these particular files are now "Package files".........I assume those are the worlds and lots? do I keep these files into the destination folder like they are, or do I move them to the C: program files folder where the belong???? I just did a clean reinstall to try to get this stupid game to run because of the latest patch...(yep.....me too....good times...) so I don't want to screw something up. I do have everything backed up.

I don't see the Sims 3 Pack in the game, but the items are still in the launcher. Do I have to delete them from the Launcher before I am able to see them in the game.

I just want to say again- I love your tool! However, I really wish you could have the program rename packages where there's more than one file. Maybe it could be like 3viewer and name them 'name of sims3pack_pattern/object/whatever.package'. I already use a duplicate file checker, and, with your dashboard program, I really don't see the need of not renaming sims3packs with more than one file. Thanks again!

It may sound stupid, but to which folder in sims 3 do I extract the files? At first I tried it with the downloads folder in my documents, but somehow the contents didn't show up in the game. ôo Should I extract them to the packages folder in programs(x86)/sims3/mods/packages???
Oh yeah, I have win 7 64-bit, but all the contents worked, before I updatet my sims 3 game to version 1.8. ôo when I installed them with launcher after the update, only custom contents showed up in the game. Content from the sims 3 store dind't install properly, it seems. But I tried so many times, and still the launcher shows no "installed" icon beside the store content. <.<

Thats, why I downloaded your installer, but now I'm not sure, in which folder I should extract the files. ^^°

Okay, now the files work. I extracted them to mods/packages.
But the only file, that doesn't work properly is the riverview file.
The installer extracted it with the other content, but it's the only one, that doesn't work properly. ôo It shows up really strange in the game. It appears when I click on Sunset Valley, cause in the list there is no Riverview to choose. But when I'm in the City-Map, it shows Riverview, but there are 2 layers visible. The top one is the landscape, the bottom one are the lots and trees etc... oO Man, that's really screwed up. Does anybody know, what the problem could be? òô Or maybe in which forum/thread I should post this problem...?

Anyway, thanks for your great work, delphy. XD I almost forgot about the "thank you" issue. XDD

Hey Delphy. This is a great tool - thanks heaps for creating it!

I'm having a small problem, though. Whenever I extract a counter, the ability to recolour the corner section (where two counters meet) disappears. Everything works fine when I install them as Sims3Packs. I have the most up-to-date version of the tool and I've run these objects through the Blue Lot Fixer (no problems were found). Any help would be most appreciated!

girlfromverona: I have absolutely no idea why that would happen - maybe it needs additional resources from somewhere else?

Hmmm, it's possible. Is anyone else having the same problem or is it just me? I'll keep investigating and let you know if I come up with anything.

I am getting several mini-pop ups showing a messages like:
"Access to path 'C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages\Filenameetcetc.package' is denied." at System.IO.__Error.WINIOError(Int32errorCode, String maybeFullPath) at System.IO.FileStream.Init(String Path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, Int32 rights, Boolean useRights, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, ....

And it goes on and on. Seems it is doing it to many of the files when trying to extract them. Any solution, please?

Dovee: Try extracting them to someplace outside of program files.

This Is good program, but after the newest patch, It's not enough. I have a lot of Store Objects (sims3pack's), and I can't install It. I know, I can simply put package files into Mods\Packages, but as I told you I have a lot of Store objects. That means, I will have a lot of package files, and that makes the game work VERY, VERY SLOW.

dbc files doesn't make the game run slow. If there was a way to convert sims3pack to dbc, NOT packages, that would mean a lot. dbc file contain several objects, not just one. Game seams to like dbc much more than packages.
