An affordable retirement cottage (under $50,000) for your Sims to whittle away their golden years.
Lot/Price- 20 x 30 size lot
- Built at 451 Riverview Road, but at this size will place just about anywhere else.
- Furnished: 48,720
- Unfurnished: 31,527
Description
This affordable home is perfect for elderly Sims--one master suite (overlooking lush gardens) with attached bath, and one twin guest bedroom with dedicated full bathroom for sleepovers with the grandkids! There is also one half bath on the main level, attached to the den. It is fully landscaped, with two water features--one small pond in the front and a larger one in the back yard adjacent to the patio.
This barn-inspired cottage is decorated in subtle colors, so as not to startle grandma. Refusing to keep up with the times, it does not feature any new-fangled TVs or computer-whatsits. There is, however, an outdoor alarm system and telephone, as grandpa is petrified of break-ins and likes to obsessively dial 911.
Notes
The idea for this build was an affordable home for elder Sims--affordable being under 50,000. This home is just over 30,000 unfurnished (much of that being landscaping prettiness), so it would be super easy to go even cheaper if you so choose. Also, though this home is decorated for a mild-mannered sense of style it only takes a few clicks to jazz it up
This home was playtested, and everything should be perfectly usable. I used a few patterns and a roof recolor in this lot. If you want it to look *exactly* like the pictures, you will need to download everything below.

robokitty's Faded and Filthy Florals set:

- Seventies Monster - master bedroom walls

Important!
I used multiple roof heights in this build, so if you're not familiar then it's probably best to keep those fingers off the slider

. Also, please keep in mind when remodeling that many objects (including landscaping) were placed using moveobjects and holding alt.
