It's fixed! After having checked every possibility, well what we could think of , we looked into the package folder itself. It turned out that the .package files was read only, so after un-checking that box everything worked as a charm. :D
All my files is fixed, except the ones with conflicts. But they didn't cause any crashes or blue lots, right?
Thanks again for your help, now I'll enjoy my game again.

Conflicts don't cause blue lots, or crashes, no, but depending on what they are, they could cause some unexpected behaviour.

I am a CC junkie to say the least! I noticed that my game has been laggy and very buggy and my husband for my birthday is upgrading my PC to windows 7 with a bigger hard drive so I figured it was a good time to clean up all my files before putting them in my new PC. WOW this program is AWESOME!! I never would have realized how many corrupt files i had ! Now thanks to you my game runs MUCH smoother and is enjoyable! :D

I hear this program is great but is there a manual or something to tell me how to use it....do i just delete all Cache files?

Do I need to have the framework?

Sorry just trying to cut down on the slow drag I get sometimes on my game.

Sistawoman... there is no manual, but the program pretty much runs without the need of one. Download the rar. file ontop your desktop, then unrar it and put that onto your desktop. Double click the Sims3Dashboard.exe and it pretty much took care of everything for me. It scanned my packaged folder automatically and it showed me what problem files I had. As deleting you Cache files, Delphy has included them in the program at the top, just click on them and select the clear button.... this will not mess up your game. When you re-start your game, these files will be re-generated. As for the framework... I would assume you already have this set up if you are using custom content? Hope this helps a little.

I am not using any custom content but am stating to see a slow down and read that clearing the Cache files will speed it up.

I guess that is why I dont have any files in the lower window?

sistawoman: Look at the box to the top left. Do you see anything that has "No" under the "Framewrk" column? If you do, that means you don't have the framework installed for that game, and it wont load any custom content from there.

As for clearing caches, it's perfectly safe to do - use the buttons on the top right to do so.

Tiki: Thank you

Just like NickelNicole12, I can't start the program... i double click on it and it just shuts itself "Sims3Dashboard has stopped working" (apparently another program makes it unable to run but it never tells me which and nothing else is running...)
This is sooo annoying! Please help me!

How does it feel to be empty?

Ooookay nevermind, I believe NickelNicole12 did the same thing I did... You have to unzip all the documents before opening the application.. I had only unziped the .exe file and it couldn't open but now everything is fine! Yay!

Hi,
Excuse me but I'm french so I have some difficulties to understand all the messages and they are so much ....
So I have one question (I hope nobody has asked yet ... ). What are really "conflict CC" ? I have a lot of them and often they are all of the same creator, or of the same set of CC ; so if I delete or disable them, I'll have not all the CC of the set ... Do you understand what I try to say ?

So are this files very dangerous for the game or can I let them whitout no really big problem ? :D

Conflicts by the same creator or within a set are actually fairly normal, and can be ignored.

Only worry about conflicts between entirely different items.

I'd like to BEG someone to please help me understand the "Mono with X11" talk. I've checked all thread pages and this Mono program seems to be my only salvation, but I have absolutely no idea how to use Mono to open Delphy's program, or what "X11" means. I've researched and looked at FAQs, but the wording is just too advanced for me.

PLEASE help, I spent a whole week getting my game to run again after a crap-load of problems, and now my lots are blue -_-' I'll check back again, like, constantly.

I'm having a weird problem. I can't extract the .zip. It keeps telling me MadScience.wrappers.dll is corrupt. Tried using WinZip, WinRAR and 7Zip. Now, I haven't seen this posted by anyone else, so I assume there's something really uniquely stupid about what I'm doing...

I can't be bothered to look through 24 pages but are you planning to make one for us Macs? I've been having the blue lots problem and it's killing me :l

Delphy, I have another request, if possible... is there any way to make your tool a) recognize default replacements (just by which override game defaults) and b) recognize which ones conflict with each other? This would really help me identify which items are over-riding game defaults (As well as each other) - often times the filenames do not specify which are default replacements, and although I try to keep them separate, I know I am not always successful. This amounts to undesired results in-game because I am unable to manage my default replacements. Make sense? Is it possible?

Loving the program- I use it to sort files, and it is a godsend. A couple of bugs I've noticed:

when deleting files, it will only delete half of what's selected. So, say, if I have 16 items I want to delete, it'll delete 8, then 4 when I click the button again, then 2.

Another nitpicky thing- it refuses to show most patterns that have been converted over to a package file from sims3pack- that's what I suspect, anyway, as it can handle files that I know were always package files.

Another thing is more a suggestion: could you add an option for 'open in Postal'? Right now, if I can't identify a file, I open it in Postal to look at the images files and so on.

lowprofile: Theres not really an easy way to identify a "default replacement". About the only way I know of is, for every single package file and resource inside, scan every single resource inside the main game folders. This, as you can imagine, would slow the scanning process down immensely. So it's not really something I'd want to do

As for conflicts... well, thats already there.

matildarose: I'll have a look at the deleting issue. Can you upload an example pattern thats been converted?

OK, well that's fair. But is it something you could make optional? Like in the things to scan, could "default replacements" be added beneath "disabled files" or something, and the user could choose that option in the scan if they like? It would also have to be able to scan files in a location outside of the main installation folders (it can already do this obviously - and thank goodness you added it because Windows 7 is a b**ch with file management in the "program files" folders) and compare it to the defaults in the actual installation folders. Unless anyone knows of a standalone default replacements management tool? :/

This is such a headache for me, I cannot even tell you. I am desperate for a solution.

Here is a zip file with patterns that show up in the Dashboard, and ones that don't. It may be something that's happening on my computer, but I have no way to test this. One thing I have noticed is that Dashboard shows many of the patterns Merlin can't.
Attached files:
File Type: zip  Test Patterns.zip (2.06 MB, 16 downloads)
Description: Five patterns that work in Dashboard, five that don't.
