This is a Maxis Recolour which means that it is a recolour of an item that already exists in your game. Please check the Expansion pack requirements to see which game pack it recolours.
This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS2 - check the sidebar.
This is a new mesh recolour, and means that you will need to download the particular mesh itself in order for this to show up in your game. See the Meshes Needed section or read the text for more information.
Michael Jackson "Smooth Criminal" style hair, this time sporting the King of Pop in a cool white fedora hat, as worn in "Smooth Criminal".
The hair comes in black only with a steel-grey version for elder. It is adult, young adult, and elder only.
This is "switchable" hair, in that the Sim will keep the hat on while wearing everyday, formal, or outerwear outfits, and switch to a hatless version of the same hair while bathing, swimming, etc.
This hairstyle is color-binned and all that cool-jazz.
Note: There are two hair meshes included with this package, and both are needed for the "regular" hair and "swim" hair..in other words, for "with hat on" and "with hat off".
The very thin strands of hair appearing near the eye area are part of the special "makeup" of the Vera Marina, Michael Jackson Special Edition Sim, so if you want that perfect touch, use that Sim, then you can switch to this hair if you so desire.

3968 Polygons for the hair with hat on
4488 polygons for the hair wearing no hat
