This is a Maxis Recolour which means that it is a recolour of an item that already exists in your game. Please check the Expansion pack requirements to see which game pack it recolours.
This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS2 - check the sidebar.
This is a new mesh recolour, and means that you will need to download the particular mesh itself in order for this to show up in your game. See the Meshes Needed section or read the text for more information.
*COMPATIBILITY: Compatible with World Adventures as well as the base game.
Here are two sets of large wings for Adult, Child and Toddler. They are both butterfly shaped, one set with a Monarch butterfly type of texture and the other with a white glowing effect.
They will be found in the Accessories panel in CAS, in the earrings section.
The
Butterfly wings are enabled for both genders and for Adults from Teen to Elder, for Children, and for Toddlers.
The
Glowing wings are enabled for both genders and for Adults (Teen to Elder) and Children only - I couldn't get the game to accept the import of two sets of wings for Toddlers, for some reason.
The textured wings have three recolourable areas: the inner main section, the veins, and the outer dots.
The glowing wings come in white only and are not recolourable.
PLEASE NOTE, however, that in order to use the glowing wings, you must have a reasonable graphics card. Mine is an old GeForce 8500GT, pretty basic, and these screenies were taken on that PC. If your graphics card is equal or better, you'll be OK. But if it's not able to produce the glowing effect, the glowing wings will not glow and will just look grey and flat. These wings use the 'Ghost Eyes' shader - if ghost eyes glow in your game, you should hopefully be OK.
They're quite handy for finding your way around in the dark:
Polys and Issues:
I am not sure what is considered 'high poly' for wings in TS3, so I made two versions of the textured wings, a lower poly one as well as the original higher poly one, just in case the higher poly version causes slowdown for some computers. The glowing wings are already a lower poly version only, and so is the Toddler set of textured wings.
Be warned that the lower poly textured wings look funky in CAS, with weird shadows, but no worry, the weird shadows are not there in-game.
Both high and low poly versions run fine on my PC, which is a 2.5GHz dual core with 2GB RAM and the above graphics card, and both versions look the same. However, having also tested them on a laptop with a low spec graphics chip, the veins on the low poly textured ones looked somewhat jaggy on that machine. So your mileage may vary.
INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS:
You can either download all sets of wings as one file ('All Wing Sets.zip') or choose individual sets.
Unzip the .zip file(s) of your choice, and copy the .package file(s) to your Mods\Packages folder. You only need one file for both male and female, as it is enabled for both.
If you don't have a Mods\Packages folder and/or don't know how to install .package files, please see full instructions here:

Thank you for looking and I hope you'll find these fun!

Additional Credits:
ABSOLUTELY HUGE AND ETERNALLY GRATEFUL THANKS to Base1980, CMarNYC and Rez Delnava who helped me in the Creator Forum, with my dilemma of trying to figure out what joint assignments to use to make these things stay attached where they're supposed to be. If it hadn't been for their help, I'd still be struggling with the wings twirling around the sims' shoulders and may have ended up giving up. THANKS again to you all.
And again,
big thanks to Delphy for the SimGeom Editor (
