Information (Click for more details):
New Mesh
This is a Maxis Recolour which means that it is a recolour of an item that already exists in your game. Please check the Expansion pack requirements to see which game pack it recolours.
This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS2 - check the sidebar.
This is a new mesh recolour, and means that you will need to download the particular mesh itself in order for this to show up in your game. See the Meshes Needed section or read the text for more information.
UPDATE DEC 2012: For those of you with low-spec graphics for whom the butterfly version of these wings look blurry and pixellated even without wearing other accessories at the same time, I've now tried making a much simpler texture for these wings but found that even that looks blurry on low-spec chips. Having done some further testing, however, I discovered that my new glass version of these wings looks MUCH less blurry on low-spec chips than these do. Don't know why, but somehow glass seems to render better on cruddy graphics. Try the glass version and see if you get along better with those (please note that the Adult version of the glass wings are smaller than these, I didn't make them in this large version): http://www.modthesims.info/d/487123
If you would like a smaller version of the Adult (Teens-to-Elders) butterfly wings, please see my smaller version here: http://www.modthesims.info/d/441831 PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT USE ANY OTHER ACCESSORY ON YOUR SIM, SUCH AS GLASSES, RINGS, BRACELETS, ETC, IF YOUR SIM IS WEARING THE BUTTERFLY VERSION OF THESE WINGS - DOING SO WILL TURN THE WINGS TEXTURE BLURRY AND PIXELLATED. Sorry but I don't know any way around that - this is a common problem with layering custom accessories. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here are two sets of large wings for all ages. Both sets are butterfly shaped, one with a Monarch butterfly texture and the other with a white glowing effect. They are in the Accessories panel in CAS, in the earrings section, for both genders and all ages. (But please note that the Glowing Wings are for Teen to Elder and Children only - I couldn't get the game to accept the import of two sets of wings for Toddlers, for some reason.) ***Please note that you need a good graphics card and maximum in-game texture detail settings for the butterfly wings to look as they do in these screenshots. Having also tested them on a low spec graphics chip with low detail settings, they looked pixellated and blurry.*** The textured wings have three recolourable areas: the inner main section, the veins, and the outer dots. The glowing wings come in white only and are not recolourable. For the glowing wings, you must have a good graphics card in order for them to glow. If your card is not able to produce the glowing effect, the glowing wings will not glow and will look grey and flat. They're quite handy for finding your way around in the dark: INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS: You can either download all sets of wings as one file ('All Wing Sets.zip') or choose individual sets. Unzip the .zip file(s) of your choice, and copy the .package file(s) to your Mods\Packages folder. You only need one file for both male and female, as it is enabled for both. If you don't have a Mods\Packages folder and/or don't know how to install .package files, please see full instructions here: http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php...g_Package_Files Thank you for looking and I hope you'll find these fun! Polygon Counts: 2712: Adult and Child Butterfly Wings 1518: Toddler Butterfly Wings and all sets of Glowing Wings Additional Credits: ABSOLUTELY HUGE AND ETERNALLY GRATEFUL THANKS to BloomsBase, CMarNYC and Rez Delnava who helped me in the Creator Forum, with my dilemma of trying to figure out what joint assignments to use to make these things stay attached where they're supposed to be. If it hadn't been for their help, I'd still be struggling with the wings twirling around the sims' shoulders and may have ended up giving up. THANKS again to you all. Thanks to Delphy for the SimGeom Editor (http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=372169 ), which makes it possible to easily change material shaders. 851 people have said thanks to Esmeralda for this download.
