Jynx's Rabbit Holes Rugs for Residential Lots

This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.

I am tired of EA's incredible greed and outrageous prices for junk! I have moved to Second Life and am no longer supporting mods here. Feel free to do anything you want with my mods. There are very, very simple tuning mods and easily altered. If you enjoy playing Sims 3 I hope you continue to do so.

Let me start by saying these are not MY Rabbit Holes!
Jynx does not claim them as his and I do not claim them as mine.
Jynx created them based on the idea of Melissa Mel's Rabbit Holes.
The ONLY thing I have done is make them available on Residential Lots.
I cloned them and changed their OBJD files.

You can find Jynx's Custom Rabbit Hole Collection here:
http://www.customsims3.com/smf/index.php?topic=1931.0

You can get Melissa's Rabbit Hole Signs here:
http://nene.modthesims.info/download.php?t=376414

The rar file contains 15 Rabbit Holes in the form of rugs that show up in Buy Mode - Deco - Rugs

1. Book Store
2. Business Ė Journalism
3. City Hall
4. Criminal Hideout
5. Day Spa
6. Diner
7. Grocery Store
8. Hospital
9. Mausoleum
10. Military Base
11. Movie Theater
12. Police Station
13. School House
14. Science Center
15. Sports Stadium

The ones most useful for Residential Lots are the Book Store, Grocery Store and School House.
Especially if you have a Loner Sim who hates leaving home.

**Space Requirements**

The minimum space you can have around the Rabbit Holes is 3 wide by 4 deep.
Any thing less than that and your Sims will stamp their feet and yell at you!

**Compatibility**
The bad news is they conflict with Jynx's Community Rabbit Hole Collection.

The good news is they can still be placed on Community Lots from Buy Mode so you don't need Jynx's.
The are compatible with Melissa Mels Community and Residential Rabbit Hole Signs.

They are compatible with all EP's and SP's.
Tested with:
Ambitions 4.2.32
World Adventures 2.7.7
Base Game 1.14.11

Polygon Counts:
unknown - not required at Custom Sims 3

Additional Credits:
Thanks to Jynx for making the Rugs, Melissa Mel for having the idea, and the creators of S3OC and S3PE for making it all possible.

You must have the expansion or stuff packs listed below installed to use this custom content. Please see the post text for any exceptions.

Jynx's Rabbit Holes for Residential Lots.rar 369.1 KB 20,723 19th Jul 2010
Don't forget to Thank the creator after downloading! Use the Thanks button located above the screenshots above.
Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file. Now you will have either a .package or a .sims3pack file.

For Package files:

1. Cut and paste the file into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages folder. If you do not already have this folder, you should read the full guide to Package files first: Sims 3:Installing Package Fileswiki, so you can make sure your game is fully patched and you have the correct Resource.cfg file.
2. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

For Sims3Pack files:

1. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
2. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Find the item in the list and tick the box beside it. Then press the Install button below the list.
3. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the content to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
4. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

Can these be put on commercial lots as well, or do I have to download Jynx's for that?

I think that might be possible. I don't know if I can do it, but it's an interesting idea. I'll look into that.

They are Rabbit Holes made into rugs so you don't have to have big ugly Rabbit Hole buildings in your game.

I will try to help you, but I need more information. Are they showing up in your game? Are they not showing up in your game? Are they showing up but your Sim can't use them?

Can you tell me what category these are found? I didn't see them in the "community buildings" category.
Edit: Nevermind, Just realized they were in the "Rugs" section! Heehee, makes sense. Thank you very much for these!

So, let me ask a different question if I may. ^_^ So if I have have the school rabbit hole , on my active sim's residential lot, if that is the only school, will other sims come to said sims household to go to the school?

likewise if the school rabbit hole is on a non-active sims residential lot, can my active sim go inside their house to go to school?

Which takes priority? the rabbit hole or the residential lot? (do they walk in like any other rabbit hole or have to "Knock" and be "invited inside" first?

Those are very good questions. I don't know the answers but I will look into that later today.

They are in Buy Mode - Sort by Function - Decor - Rugs
I just downloaded them to test and they are showing up fine in my game.
Do you have other custom content installed that works?

Thanks you so much.

These are substitution of original "Custom Rabbitholes Collection".
These are good!

Rabbitholes which we installed at "Custom Rabbitholes Collection" continue being used without changing really.

However, only "Day Spa" did not accord with "Day Spa" of "Custom Rabbitholes Collection" when I looked in Dashboard Tool.

There should be revised.

I haven't been able to get award ceremonies to work with these rabbit holes. When my sim goes to attend, I get the route failure bubble, and the mayor NPC pops out, and just leaves in a taxi. After that the event is just over and I get no further options to attend. I tried moving the rug to a huge empty area, with nothing anywhere near it, still doesn't seem to work...

I did compatible modification of the Rug of Day-Spa with original; "(Jynx's) Custom Rabbit Holes Collection."
Specifically, Instance of "objd" of the Day-Spa became the same as original.

I was modding at www.customsims3.com as Jynx.
I just wanted to let you know that you can remove the link to the original rugs,
CS3's forum has been corrupted for several months and the rugs are longer posted there.
