Information (Click for more details):
Maxis Recolour
This is a Maxis Recolour which means that it is a recolour of an item that already exists in your game. Please check the Expansion pack requirements to see which game pack it recolours.
This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS2 - check the sidebar.
This is a new mesh recolour, and means that you will need to download the particular mesh itself in order for this to show up in your game. See the Meshes Needed section or read the text for more information.
So, where has iCad been, you ask? Well, I had a much busier summer and early fall than I expected, and I kind of fell off the face of the Internet as a result. Now, I'm in the (very welcome!) lull between early fall music engagements and holiday stuff. So...here I be. However, in the interim, I also got a new (for me, 'cuz it's used) desktop computer, which I bought specifically for Simming, in order to take some of the load off my poor 8-year-old laptop. I'm still in the process of finding the perfect video card for it, but in the interim its integrated graphics chip is better than the graphics on said poor aging laptop. It'll even, gosh-golly, smooth edges.
So, this is my first upload that has pics taken on the "new" comp. Yay! ANYWAY...Yeah, yeah, more doors. This is the Mauritania door, the one with the nice stained glass inset thingy. Here are the colors, which are the same 20 colors as always:The pics used to make the above collage were taken outside on the sunny side of the lot. Please note that I have only recolored the wood part of the door, not the glass. Some of my colors are, as it turns out, fairly close to the Maxis colors. However, my textures have a different grain pattern than any of the Maxis colors. In general, the graining is more subtle and the overall finish more matte. I guess it's up to you to decide which you prefer. ![]() I do want to recolor the glass as well, but I just haven't gotten to that yet. If anyone has any suggestions as to what you'd like to see in that arena, I'm certainly open to suggestions. Feel free to PM me or to put any suggestions/requests you might have in the comments and I'll see what I can do. Once I have glass recolors, I will add them to this post, so if you're interested in that sort of thing, I guess you should keep an eye on this space. ![]() These files will also recolor the matching Maxis arch, but perhaps more importantly, they will recolor all the matching windows, double doors, and additional arches that Leesester has created, which I strongly suggest that you download if you haven't already done so, as they make this door much more useful. As always, the files are pre-Compressorized and clearly named so that you can easily delete the colors you don't want/need. Also as always, I hope that you will find these useful.
