Gym Bug Fix and Dartboard Improvement

No Longer Supported!
Due to an increasing interest in other areas of coding, plus with a shrinking like of XML Tuning, I'm sad to say that I'm discontinuing this Mod. I haven't provided an update since 1.50 and will likely not be doing so in future. All you need to know is that EA fixed the issue this mod originally started out to correct, and I have not verified compatibility of the dartboard (though I shall try to do so soon).

Updates
Compatible with 1.50

The packages are dated April 2012. This does not matter with compatibility, as no changes have ever been required during this Mod's existence. Therefore, as long as this post lists your patch version as compatible, the download available will be compatible.

When I first learnt of the Gym Bug issue (where Sims with the Fit Atmosphere moodlet don't have any bonuses to their Athletic Skill), I thought EA would get round to it in the next patch. That was close to two years ago. So instead of waiting for them to fix it, I created this simple Mod to fix it. It also adjusts certain values for the Dartboard, namely the Trait Benefits for Athletic, Lucky, Disciplined, Party Animal, Loser, Unlucky and Couch Potato Sims. (All Traits that have been italicized are traits that negatively impact the game of Darts)

Gameplay Changes:
  • The "Fit Atmosphere" moodlet will cause your Sim to learn Athletic at double the normal rate, instead of half the rate (which it currently does).
  • The values of the bonuses that certain traits give are changed. Here is a list of those changes:
    • Lucky - Changed from 3% to 36%
    • Athletic - Changed from 3% to 20%
    • Disciplined - Changed from 3% to 5%
    • Party Animal - Changed from 3% to 1%
    • Loser - Changed from -15% to -100%
    • Unlucky - Changed from -10% to -30%
    • Couch Potato - Changed from -5% to -10%

Compatibility

This Mod is an XML Tuning Mod. It should not conflict with many Mods. However, it does override The Dartboard XML File and The BuffFitAtmosphere XML File, and will conflict with anything that does the same.

This Mod was tested before uploading and no issues were found. However, if an issue does arise, please notify me and I will fix it ASAP. This is my first Mod (hooray), so please let me know if there is anything wrong.

This Mod was built on Game Version 1.33 and is compatible on that version, along with all subsequent patch levels up to and including 1.48.

This is a multi-part download:

Due to strange circumstances in the initial upload, I have split the Mod into two different .zip files.

If you ONLY want the Gym Bug Fix:
Download the "GymBugFix_Seabody_LastUpd_9May2012.zip" file (the date will change when this Mod is updated). Install it in the normal way.

If you ONLY want the Improved Dartboard:
Download the "ImprovedDartboard_Seabody_LastUpd_9May2012.zip" file (the date will change when this Mod is updated). Install it in the normal way.

If you want BOTH of the Mods:
Download the "GymBugFix_Seabody_LastUpd_9May2012.zip" and the "ImprovedDartboard_Seabody_LastUpd_9May2012.zip" file (the dates will change when this Mod is updated). Install them in the normal way.

In you description it says "◦Unlucky - Changed from -10% to 30%" did you mean to type -30% or is this correct?

I'm currently using nonamena's mods to fix the fit atmosphere bug. Have you considered splitting your dartboard fix into a separate mod?

TS2 and TS3: Where adult sims potty train their toddlers.
TS4: Where adult sims make Angry Poops.

Opened up the file and it only contains the dartboard changes, not the buff fix.

Yeah, I picked up on that after I had submitted it and couldn't find the edit button. I fixed it.

I did think about that, but decided not to. I can't remember why though.

Odd. I'll take a look at the file on my computer.
That's weird. The file that I uploaded - I unzipped it and it only contained the Buff Fix. I'll download the file I put up and check that.
Edit: Okay, it appears that even though I packaged the files together, they somehow separated themselves.
I have both uploads in separate folders, so I'll update the downloads page.

I'm sure. I'm a member of another Sims forum, and they were reporting the bug. That's what led me to investigate it.
Do you have the NonaMena mod that ZigerSimmer mentioned? That would be fixing the bug.

I looked into S3PE, and I couldn't locate the file, so no, sorry.

I just extracted the "MTS_Seabody_1292773_ImprovedDartboard_Seabody_LastUpd_9May2012" mod, and the package inside it is still the combined one dated 2 April. Is this how it's supposed to be or did the upload monster switch the files on you? I'm gonna sit on the dartboard update until I know I'm installing the right one! Thanks.

Quickly checked the xml for you for 1.36.

The fitatmosphere wasn't changed.

Thanks IAmTheRad for checking that.

@sciguy77 - Nothing was changed in the 1.34 patch, so I didn't update it then. I've been having major issues that would affect my testing of it for 1.36, so I am currently unable to update the Mods. I should be able to within a few days, however. I guess that's a fancy way of saying, hold off on it for a few days until I can check the files.
