This mod is compatible with base-game/ patch level 1.34 and above
* edit 11th Nov. 2012: A temporary fix for patch-level 1.42 is available
* edit 1rst of January 2013: A new version with some improvements and bug-fixes, compatible with patch 1.42 is available

(11th Nov. 2012) There are two new files available : The MODoor Cleaner Tool and The MODoor Helper Tool !

see below for more information.

The MO Door v.4 as you might suppose is the successor of the MO Door v.3

The Basic features of the of Mo Door v.3 have remained the same in the MO Door 4, so users of the former version will feel quite famliar with the new one.

For those who are new to the MO Door here is a short description what it basically does :
The MO Door (Multi-Owners-Door) allows you to build a list of Sims separately for each door in your game. Sims who are on this list (the 'Owners-List' ) are able to use/pass that door.
Sims who are not on the list will be unable to pass the door. The list can be edited in the 'Key-Picker' (see screenshots: Basic Functions). The 'Key-Picker' is a user interface where you can:
- display Sims currently present in a lot,
- filter these Sims to display them by different categories, and
- last not least - add and delete Sims to/from the Owners-List.
There is another function that was already present in the MO Door v.3, called 'Set Auto Permissions'. This is another user interface that allows you to make presets for different sorts of Sims to be automatically added to the 'Owners List' (e.g. paid service people like maids, babysitters etc. , public services like police etc...and others, see below, screenshot: Basic Functions).
Sims defined by the 'Auto-Permissions' setup are automatically added when the appear in a lot and deleted when they leave. Once on the list, you could of course delete(and add again) their names from the doors' 'Owner-List' by using the 'Key Picker' as well.

Functions of the MO Door, version 4:
  • 1. Basic Function : The Key-Picker (as described above)
  • 2. Basic Function : Set Auto-Permission(s) (as described above)
  • 3. Advanced Function : The Timer (description see below)
  • 4. Advanced Function : The Outfit Switcher (description see below)
  • 5. Advanced Function : The Matrix (description see below)

In version 4 some improvements have been made to the Basic Functions :

The Key-Picker (whitch contains the Ownerslist)
- has now new categories for pets and human Sims (Pets will only show up with EP5 installed)
- some inprovements in the interface.

The Auto-Permission
Setup has new categories.

For detailed instructions on how to use these functions, please refer to the MO Door_4.1 instruction manual which can be downloaded from the download section along with the MO Door_4.1.package.

In Addition the MODoor 4.1 is introducing some new, advanced features which will give you a wide variety of possibilities how you can use this new Door in your game - especially when you combine them!

These are:

The Timer - Set up the door to close for a certain period of time - on a daily basis. You can edit the closing hour and the opening hour.

The Outfit-Switcher
- Define to which Outfit Sims will wear, when they pass through the door. You can do this for both sides of the door. Besides that, you will find some extra-goodies in the Outfit-Switcher-Setup!

The Matrix
- This is a filter-system (similar to the function of the 'Filter Door', one of my former mods here on MTS): You can define which Sims should use the door by combining different categories like:
Age, Household, Visitors, different kinds of NPC's etc. This gives you endless possibilities...

It doesn't make sense to go into details at this place. I suggest that you download the PDF manual that I wrote for the MO Door 4. There you'll (hopefully) find everything that you need or want to know in detail, on 38 pages!

Nevertheless let me say a few things on how to install the MO-Door 4:
- The MO Door 4 doesn't need any additional door file(s) anymore. The controller will recognize almost any door from the EA-(build)catalog.
So, before you run the MO Door4, take any of those old door files and the old door-controller (v.3) out!
- Only freshly installed Doors (from the build-catalog) will work as MO Doors! Doors from saved games or loaded houses will NOT be recognized by the MO Door-controller and thus will not display the MO Doors' option-menu.
- At first use a doors' menu will look and behave like the original EA Door Menu. To switch over to MO Door-mode hold down ALT while clicking on that door.
- Once activated the door will show the basic functions described before (Key Picker etc.)
- To activate any of the extra-functions hold ALT + CTRL, when clicking on a MO Door.

Compatibility:
Min.Required : Base game, patch level 1.34 and above.
This is a scripted mod that adds extensions to the existing functions of the original EA doors. It doesn't override any of the Sims3 core-files and thus should be compatible with the most core-mods out there.
Note that this has not been fully tested or verified yet. Custom modded doors as well as modded door scripts are also not expected to conflict.
It has been reported by several users that Selector , a mod by Twallan (NRaas) is not compatible with version 4 of the MODoor. So you have to make your choice between either running one or the other mod.

However the MODoor v4. overwrites (and thus will conflict) with :

ANY OBJK (type 0x02DC342F ) contained in the GamePlayData.package, that belongs to a door or gate object (with a few exceptions).
(The MO Door 4.1.package includes these files because the controller-script needs them to identify the doors) .
In case you notice any oddity using the MO Door v.4 (in combination with other mods or not) you are always welcome to report it to me!

I strongly recommend that you READ THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL!! It's the best thing to do, believe me...

And of course to have fun...

1. The MODoor Cleaner Tool
The MODoor Cleaner Tool is made for people who have used the MODoor in their game(s) and want to get rid of it.
If you simply remove the MODoor-Controller from your 'Mods' folder you run into a problem, at least if you want to continue playing on the same lot or in the same House where you formerly had doors that where 'modoorized' . When you start your game for the next time after you have removed the MODoor-Controller all doors will have vanished This has been reported by many users. The reason why this happens is : when you load a game it looks for all the objects belonging to your active household. It will load those objects from the object-resources stored on your hard disk. Once the program 'sees' an object that has to be loaded, it will try to connect it to it's script (the software controlling the behavior of the object). In case that software or script isn't present any more the game will abandon the loading process of this object and thus it won't appear in your game anymore.
The purpose of the MODoor Cleaner Tool is to fix this ugly problem!. It enables users to restore all doors in saved games to the original (EA) state! (Available in the Downloads-section now: MODoorCleaner_v.1.1.rar

2. The MODoor Helper Tool
The MODoor Helper Tool depends on the MODoor and for that reason you can not use it without having the MODoor installed. It could be thought of as an extension of the MODoor.
It gives you a few new options to make your life as an user of the MODoor easier. However you won't find these new options in the MODoors' menu .
Instead you have to click on the mailbox of your active to access those options. In the mailbox menu you'll see an option called: 'MODoor Helper Tool...'. Select it in order to open the (sub)menu of the tool which contains four options:

1.Find and delete orphans
2.Modoorize this lot
3.Modoorize lots in world
4.Re-attach MoDoors on lot

For information about what these function exactly do, please read the instruction PDF included in MODoorHelper_v.1.0.rar which is available in the Downloads now!
