I like the idea of this mod, but when it is enabled, none of my sims will cook or eat on their own. Clicking on food need icon only makes them wave their hands as if they can't get there.

think i have a similar problem...i have a 2-sim house & the wife had just eaten & was completely full, but kept trying to go eat some more leftovers...my only hunch is that her sleeping husband may have been hungry, & for some reason, she was responding to his hunger motive as if it were her own, despite hers being full...but i'm not a modder, so it's only a guess....but the point is that once i installed the script version of this, my full sim kept trying to eat more leftovers...hopefully you can use this to help rectify the problem, as i love the idea of this mod

EDIT-even after removing both files, my sim still won't stop eating even when she is full i tried replacing the fridge & even moving them out of the lot & back in & throwing out the food that had been made while the 2 files originally in the game...even after all of this, my completely full sim just keeps eating constantly, even when neither she nor her husband are even hungry (& no, neither of them have the glutton trait & no, she's not pregnant)..

This would be nice. I almost always have a sim with the Master Chef aspiration so I don't have to worry about food spoiling and always make the 8 person meals. Anytime a sim goes to cook on their own I have to stop them to make sure they fix a 8 person meal. Or I don't have a stove in the house and just have a grill. Meals made on the grill or large servings.

That's really odd. It wasn't caused by this mod I don't think, if it is still doing it with the mod removed. Perhaps there is another mod that is conflicting with this one that has started causing this behavior with the latest game patch.

The behavior I saw (and have yet to really look hard into fixing yet, I'm kind of on a vacation/hiatus from modding right now) was that in a single sim (or two sim - they act the same) household the sim would cook a meal when they didn't really want one, but they wouldn't end up eating it. It was kind of annoying, but not game killing so I haven't really looked at it yet.

If you are using the script version of the mod, make sure the script is installed properly and script mods are enabled in your game options. If the script isn't working then the new interactions won't be seen by the game, so they will cancel cooking unless the sims lives alone (or vice-versa, I don't remember) but basically things just plain won't work

This is something I would consider once I get started modding again. I will probably look into the problem with single-household sims and try and solve that glitch first. Or I might get distracted and start on something completely new.

I just never know what I'm going to do next

Wonderful concept for a mod, but my sims will no longer autonomously eat leftovers from the fridge. They will always cook a fresh meal. I guess they don't like eating old food hehe It is a mother sim with her now teenage son. I installed this mod when the son was a child.

Yeah, there does seem to be problems that can arise on a lot with only one or two sims in the household which I have not yet had the time to figure out. Sorry.

This mod now disables the refrigerator. When I click on the fridge (or stove) and select cook, a message appears saying there is no refrigerator. I hope it gets fixed soon as I LOVE it.

Can't wait to try this one out! My sims drive me insane with their cooking! (Or lack of!)

This may have broken with the Seasons update. All meals are disabled with the message "There is no refrigerator available".

Yes, this mod has been in need of an update for some time. I had done some work on getting that accomplished at one time, but never quite finished it yet to bring it up to date with current game patches. I don't remember exactly what the issue was but I ran into troubles getting things to work properly while being absolutely sure that it wouldn't interfere with NPC cooking, in particular restaurants.
