Today I present to you a home I have made as an attempt at recreating the Lachlin McTaggert House in Hoquiam, WA. Part of the reason I wanted to recreate this home is that it's such an unusual and eclectic-looking home, especially with those rather unusual corner oriel windows. I wanted to see if it was possible to recreate them within the constraints of the game. Whilst I tried to be as faithful to the original as possible, I had make some educated guesses as the old real-estate listing pictures didn't show every room. So I'm pretty sure the floor plan isn't entirely accurate and I'm now doubting as to whether it actually has a basement. But other than that the minor slits in the walls around the staircase due to the use of CFE, the CFE pergola beams connecting to the side of the house with fences and the main roof, which can't really be helped either, are the only blemishes that have stopped this creation from being all that I hoped it would be. But even so, I'm really pleased with how it's turned out and have very much enjoyed playing it.

Quote:
This American Four Square style dwelling was built in 1907 by Lachlin McTaggart, a builder, painter and investor who was also in the furniture and undertaking businesses. The house features beveled cedar siding, a hipped roof with shed dormer and decorative exposed rafters beneath the eaves. The house was restored to its original condition in the early 1980s; more than 100 people in the community returned items originally in the house to assist the owners with the restoration effort.

Lot Info:
The house currently boasts 4 reception rooms, kitchen, 2 porches, a sunroom, 6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and an attic room which is currently in use as a hobby room with an additional bed.
It was built on a 35 by 35 lot costing 193,806 Simoleons furnished and 120,243 Simoleons unfurnished.
All of the fireplaces have been upgraded to fireproof.
MoveObjects was used when placing the fireplaces, so don't go touching them in build/buy mode without that cheat active. Or else...

I hope you will enjoy playing this house as much as I have. As usual. if there are any issues, please let me know.
