This is a Maxis Recolour which means that it is a recolour of an item that already exists in your game. Please check the Expansion pack requirements to see which game pack it recolours.
Geraniums are one of the most common window box flowers for a very good reason.
They are resilient, insect resistant. Their blooms are varied and strikingly, brightly colored. Their soft, peach fuzz covered leaves can come in several scents including a very pleasant lemony scent, all of them (as far as I know) bug repellent. The oils that produce the scents are used to make perfume.
To top it off geranium leaves and flowers are edible and can be used to make all sorts of things like jellies and cakes.

What more could you ask from a humble window box garden?

Note: Though they may look potentially tasty, these plants are purely for the eye to feast on.
