Nightlife Coffin Hider

by ChristianBuilder Posted 2nd May 2017 at 11:52 PM - Updated 5th Jun 2017 at 6:03 AM by ChristianBuilder : Not going to credit EA because they mocked Christianity - they didn't make the game anyway, they only published it, Maxis made it.

I'm Christian too, and don't have any problems with the supernatural things in the sims. It's only a game, not real life, and I think it's more about fun and imagination than a satanist side of the sims (or something like that) so it doesn't conflict with my faith.
I understand your point of view and if you're uncomfortable with that I agree that it's better for you to hide it (and this mod could be useful for anyone who would not want see that coffin anymore) but I don't really like the way you're introducing your work. I think what you've said only show us Christians as close-minded to non-religious sims 2 players, and that's sad.

I'm French so I hope you understood what I tried to say, I won't use this coffin hider in my game but thanks for your work !

First of all: To each his own. If the supernaturals in game make you uncomfortable for whatever reason, then of course you shouldn't play them, and if you don't want to have to see that coffin every time you shop for beds, then of course you should hide it. I have hiders in my game for things I don't like, too, and as a creator, with the exception of the occasional request, just about everything I create is something I want/need for my own game in one way or another. So those aspects, I can absolutely relate to. I also appreciate the work you've put into this, and that you're sharing it with others. You never know how many downloaders out there might be going "see, this is something I didn't know I needed before I saw it!"

But. I'm a Christian, too (Protestant/Lutheran), and like RAYQUAZZ, I do wish you had phrased your introduction differently. When you say "as a devout Christian, I don't do this," to me it sounds an awful lot like you're making yourself out to be a spokesperson for all Christians, and/or that you're saying that your way of playing is the only Christian way. Neither of which is true. It's quite possible you didn't mean it this way, but this is how it comes across to me.

I wish you had at least identified your denomination, instead of just saying "Christian," that might have made it a little more clear to non-religious simmers that yours is not necessarily the opinion of all of us. But that's just my opinion.

Well, good for you. I myself do not download anything with occult symbols on them. I once found a medieval computer that was supposed to be a crystal ball, and I liked it but where the mouse pad was had been turned into a pentagram. I deleted it. I also don't download from anyone that has a triple 6 in their username. Just a thing of mine. To each his own. Good job for making this, sweetie

I have lot of different types of sims in my game including Goths, Vampires, Nuns, Scientists and Priests. In your description it came across like you are offended by the coffin. But after all this simulation is a game. I am an Atheist but I love playing my Vicarage lot and visiting the Church in my hood.

But the sims is literally about "Playing God"...I meant occult symbols aside there is some pretty dark stuff that happens in the sims.

Your post is judgmental and borderline offensive. Why even bother mentioning you are christian?

Still a devout Christian?

Satan isn't real. Then again, it's a title, not a name. It means "opposer".
