I won't be updating this as I have learned that MCC allows you to change lifespans much easier than this mod. Thanks for the feedback on my first mod, I'll keep on going.
Built for game version 1.48.94 -- This mod alters the lifespan of sims, cats, and dogs.

I just updated my mod so that Elders are from ages 65-80 and Adults are 30-65. Thanks so much for the feedback, it really means a lot to me!
I recently made my first mod and this is how it turned out! It's a simple aging mod (Yes, another one) where your sim's lives are directly related to our lifespans in real life. I looked up the average lifespan of a US citizen (79) and decided to round it to 80. I also changed the ages for cats/dogs so that they live longer relative to the sims. Here is how I divided the ages:

Baby: Ages 1 - 2 (1 year)
Toddler: Ages 2 - 4 (3 years)
Child: Ages 4 - 12 (8 years)
Teen: Ages 12 - 20 (8 years)
Young Adult: Ages 20 - 30 (10 years)
Adult: Ages 30 - 65 (35 years)
Elder: Ages 65 - 80 years (15 years)

The first flavor is like an "extreme" mode. It is 1 Day = 1 Year.
The second flavor is great for people who want their sims to suffer for longer. It is 3 days = 1 year.
The third flavor is for people who don't like having their sims die. It is 5 days = 1 year.

The new ages for the pets follow the same theme as the sim days for each flavor. I didn't think it was really realistic for the pets to last as long as they did so they have shorter lifespans.
Cat Child: 1 year
Cat Adult: 6 years
Cat Elder: 10 years
Dog Child: 1 year
Dog Adult: 6 Years
Dog Elder: 21 Years
