This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS - check below the description for more information.
Picked Upload! This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
Hi everyone, this fireplace works just like a Maxis fireplace. It installs in a similar fashion to my modular stairs, and I've included a README file in the download to help you get it set up. Make sure you read that first. Should work for everyone, with or without the University EP.

There are 8 built-in recolours and the polygon count is very low.

Let me know how it works out for you.

How did I not see this (and download) sooner? Thank you very much for such a beautiful fireplace Brasstex.

Please do not PM me with Game or Site Help questions. Post them in the appropriate section after going through the FAQs.

Maxis needs to consult some of these talented creators, honestly!

Anyway, thank you so much! I don't think I'll go back to Maxis fireplaces ever again

Can't copy-paste the text, it says:
"Cannot creat the C:/Progam Files/EA GAMES/De Sims 2 Vrije Tijd
/TSData/Res/Catalog/Scripts/fireplaces.txt file.

Make sure that the path and file name are correct."

What should I do? (I'm Dutch, so don't think it's strange that you see "Vrije Tijd" instead of "Freetime".)

This is really great, thank you!
Would it be too much of an imposition to ask for a custom script/text file thing since I have Scriptorium, and I don't want to mess with the default scripts. Even if I did back them up, I still rather not edit anything.
I hope this isn't asking too much. ^^;; *sheepish*

For me the fireplace works fine. Modify TSData isn't the best thing to do. But before adding the bit to the fireplaces text you might want to copy the original one on an external hard drive in a folder called "Original Sims 2 fireplaces text).

At the first try the fireplace didn't show up in teh Fireplaces catalog so what I did is copy the bit into the Sims2 (base game) fireplaces text and then the same into my Apartment Life EP fireplaces text. Now the fireplace show up twice lol but the main thing is that it shows up.

But true a similar text like Numeror's Scriptorium would have been better because in case of any issue it's easier to remove a download rather than to mess up TSData texts in EA Game program files.

Maxis copied your fireplace, turning it into a fugly half-way-up version! Damn them!

Also, great Fireplace. It's mandatory in all my loft apartments

Just open/download the zip/rar again but instead of extracting the item(s), just launch the txt (readme) file.

I haven't seen a Maxis version of this. Did it come with one of the expansion packs? I have all of them except pets.
