This is a picked upload! It showcases some of the best talent and creativity available on MTS and in the community.
This is a Maxis Recolour which means that it is a recolour of an item that already exists in your game. Please check the Expansion pack requirements to see which game pack it recolours.
This is a new mesh, and means that it's a brand new self contained object that usually does not require a specific Expansion pack (although this is possible depending on the type). It may have Recolours hosted on MTS2 - check the sidebar.
This is a new mesh recolour, and means that you will need to download the particular mesh itself in order for this to show up in your game. See the Meshes Needed section or read the text for more information.
NOTE 10/28/06 Tested with Pets. Appears compatible.
These are red, green, and blue spotlights that will give off colored light - red, green, and blue respectively. You can use them to create different lighting effects in illuminating objects such as statues and trees (see screenshots below). Combine two or more lights to create different colors:
Red & Green: Amber light
Red & Blue: Violet light
Green & Blue: Turquoise light
Red & Green & Blue: White light with colored accents.
University & Nightlife compliant. Should also work with the Original Sims 2.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Place the packages in your EA GAMES\THE SIMS 2\DOWNLOADS directory.
The spotlights will appear in the "Lighting-Outdoors" category.
NOTES:

- You will not be able to see the colors if the spotlights are placed outside in daylight (because the sunlight is stronger) - however, you can see the colors inside during the day, and both inside and outside at night.
- When these spotlights are turned off, they are indistinguishable in appearance from regular spotlights. You must turn them on to identify which color light they give off.
- Finally, in some cases a spotlight may not seem to give off colored light if it is placed too close to the object it is meant to illuminate. For best results, place the spotlight a few tiles away.
Please let me know if you run into any problems,
J.
