CEP COMPONENTS
Starting from CEP v.8.0, both the Installer and the Manual Installation zip contain all the CEP resources: - CEP core files: these are required for the CEP to work.
- "CEP EXTRA" components: these are fixes and additional features that are not required, but their installation is strongly suggested; read details about the CEP EXTRA in the Documentation installed along with the CEP.
- CEP Documentation: it's optional, but it's very interesting; it includes the FAQ, a detailed list of the CEP EXTRA and a full list of all the objects that come with the game.
- CEP Icon Set: optional; it's mainly aimed to webmasters (to put them in the download web pages or in the local CEP Info page) and CEP enthusiasts.
INSTALLATION and USAGE
The CEP can be installed automatically (Windows users only), or manually (Mac users, and anyone who wants to have total control on what happens on their computers )
- Automatic installation (Windows users only) - Download the file "CEP_Windows-AutoInstaller.zip" and unpack it on your desktop. Double-click on the installer (CEP_Setup.exe) and follow the instructions.
You have to choose which "CEP EXTRA" components you want to install, select the path where to install the Documentation and choose what parts of the Documentation you want to install (any older CEP version will be automatically uninstalled).
To uninstall, use the "Add/Remove Program" applet, in the Windows control panel, or the icon in the Start menu.
- Manual Installation (Windows and MacOS X Users) - Download the file "CEP_Windows+MAC_Manual-Installation.zip"; unpack the zip on a temporary folder. Open the temporary folder, and you'll find all the needed files, along with detailed instructions (for Win and Mac) that will guide you in the manual installation.
To uninstall, remove all the CEP files from your system, following the instruction provided in the same text file you used for the installation.
CREDITS and ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
By now, the CEP is updated and supported by me (Numenor) alone. Nevertheless, many persons deserve our personal thanks and credits for their help: - RGILES and QUAXI for having invented and created with me the first CEP, that still "survives" into the current CEP. Very special thanks to QUAXI for his valuable tool SimPE and for his great kindness and patience
 - MaryLou for the help in testing the CEP, for fixing the UV-map of the Toilet Stall and for the CEP Icon sets v. 6, 7 and 8.
- SimplyStella for the CEP Icon sets v. 3/4/5.
- Rentechd for the CEP Icon sets v. 1/2.
- IgnorantBliss for the countless hours spent on updating the CEP List
 - Havelock for many fixes included in CEP9 (Bohemian set, security gates, Club counters, Closet doors).
- And last but not least, thank you very much to all the CEP users, and in particular to Lord Darcy, for their help reporting bugs, discovering Maxis faults, suggesting modifications and asking for more recolourable objects.

Numenor, I`m not sure what the relavent settings are set to; I`m still trying to get comfortable with my new hardware, and haven`t gotten all the little settings hiding in various places set the way I want them yet, and I`m certainly NOT using Norton Internet Security. I`m using IE7, an up-to-date AVG-Free, DAP [free version], and the Windows Firewall to manage my Internet usage. I`m not worried, personally, about getting to your site, though, as I`ve already downloaded from here; I was just testing the claim that the link brought someone back to this page. Seeing the source of your page, though, I can see why it WOULD bring someone back here under appropriate circumstances.
Edit: The page I end up at when I follow that link is blank, and IE7 posts the alert that "To help protect your security, Internet Explorer blocked this site from downloading files to your computer. Click here for options...". I think I know what is going on: Your redirect page is successfully redirecting me to the download file itself, which IE7 is refusing to access because of my security settings, which are still mostly at default levels [see above for why]. Microsoft rightly doesn`t trust most people to properly manage their own security, but *I* don`t trust *Microsoft* to properly manage *my* security. Protect it, yes; *manage* that protection, no.
So basicaly, this resolves to "This is a non-issue" in my case. .

Yes, IE7 never lets you download anything before having an explicit confirmation (that you give by clicking on the bar that reads "Click here for options..."). Of course, if you refuse to download... you can't download
BTW I use AVG free, too (and it doesn't block any referral); as for DAP, it is possible that it is misconfigured: I used it long ago, and if I remeber well, there's an option for the referrals somewhere.

Numenor, I have encountered a problem or more say a glitch while using CEP.
Using your AGS, with AL installed with OFB, the Artefact by Ergo is missing it's colours, I've tried removing OFB to no avail. However, upon uninstalling CEP from my computer, the recolours appear again. Would you know what would be causing this?
I do not know what has possibly caused the conflict, so i was hoping you might be able to fix it soon..
Thanks..
Corrie

NEWS and UPDATES to the CEP packages

15 MAY 2009 - CEP v.9.2.0 (Final update for AL + more 'stuff pack' objects)
This is the last major update of the CEP; of course, if users will find bugs, or will ask to include some objects that I may have left out, I will release a minor update.
Compared to previous v. 9.1, this update contains:- the latest version of the CEP Extra related to the Bohemian Architecture set by Havelock: now it includes the diagonals, and the ability to shift vertically all the straight and diagonal pieces (upper and lower ones);
- 23 new objects from Apartment Life (including the spell ingredients, the TV's, the trash chute and many others);
- an update to the 4 skating rinks from Seasons (now the ground is recolourable, too);
- the requested Judging Table from FreeTime; before you ask, NO, the ribbon can't be recoloured...;
- 5 new objects from Kitchen & Bathroom (requested by the users);
- 19 objects from the IKEA stuff pack, including the Expedit TV requested by Lord Darcy;
- 13 objects from Mansion & Garden (including a 'lost' recolour for the 'Freezer Bunny' sculpture);
- fully updated documentation (both the CEP Object List and the CEP-Extra Documentation).
Plus, the installer now can check online for updates, and redirect the user to the official CEP thread (this one) if needed; this online check is optional and can deactivated.
------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope not to have forgotten any of the requests and suggestions people posted on the CEP thread; if I've left out something, please let me know

Thank you for making and maintaining the CEP, Numenor. It's amazing what you do; the amount of help you provide with this and the level of respectability that carries over into your detailed attention to even the smallest requests for assistance. I hope you are able to feel as appreciated as you are.

Numenor, you are awesome! Thank you so much for finishing the CEP. I just this minute downloaded & installed it. Yay!
And thanks for answering my pm as well. I took note of the "C.E.P. - INSTALLATION COMPLETE" message on your page & you'll be happy to know that I am showing my appreciation for your CEP per your request. It's the least I can do & You deserve it!

Menaceman - The 2 large rocks (SSN and BV), originally, had the same GroupID, GUID and description; and the same happened for the 2 small rocks. I only changed the GUID of the BV rocks, so to let the game treat them as separate objects, without overriding the SSN ones. The trick worked, but still the GroupID is identical, and the description too. I didn't want to change the GroupID in order to limit my intervention to the least invasive level possible, and this causes the game to use the same description for both rocks. But again, if you check the original Objects.package coming with SSN and BV, you will see that the rocks always had the same description, even without the CEP Extra.
You couldn't notice this problem before, becouse without the CEP you can't see all the 4 rocks in catalog at the same time.
Poison - Every time post an update to the CEP, there are a lot of people that rush downloading the new version, and this may cause some traffic problems. Just retry over and over, until you succeed. You can also try the "Mirror Links" hidden under the grey buttons (you need Javascript active).
To all the others - Thank you for your nice and kind words! I appreciate them very much.

Menaceman - No, wait, "Greta the Granite", "Rocky the Rock" and "Skippy the Stone" are the BV rocks that can only be found by digging: they are not in catalog.
As for the two rocks introduced with SSN, their mesh has been replaced with a brand new one starting with BV, but nothing else has been changed (GroupID, GUID, description); as a consequence, the old SSN rocks have been "removed" from the game, and totally overridden by the BV ones.
Sierradane - Georgian windows? I'm not sure to understand which ones you are talking about... If they came with M&G, then the CEP has nothing to do with them.
