Making A New Lot With Different Roofs

Date Posted: 10th Jun 2013 at 11:24 PM

I am going to make a new lot with different rooftops. It's going to involve Homecrafter Plus, a lot of custom floors, and the boolprop constrainFloorElevation true/false cheat. Wish me luck!

Downloaded Wings3D

Date Posted: 2nd May 2013 at 4:32 AM

Today, I downloaded Wings3D and experimented with the application in building 3D models. I have to admit, Wings3D seems to be the easiest, most intuitive modelling tool I have ever seen! To be honest, I have tried out TrueSpace in the past, and even though it's fancy, it takes a while to get used to the navigation system and shortcuts. Encouraged by the fact that many high-quality creations on Mod The Sims are created with Wings3D, I think I am going to use this tool to help me model.

Right now in my modelling, I am merely a beginner. Still getting used to the interface and navigation system.

The Freshman Year of Samantha Carruthers [a Sims 2 Story]

Date Posted: 29th Apr 2013 at 1:27 PM

Samantha Carruthers was sitting at her bedroom desk, staring at her computer screen and trying to memorize the terms for the first exam on Monday. She went through the PowerPoint slides, one by one, and familiarized herself with the contents. Then, her eyelids became heavy and drooped, her mind barely able to think. Before long, she laid her head on the desk and closed her eyes. When she opened her eyes, she glanced at her clock, which read 4:25 AM. At that moment, Samantha realized that she slept through four whole hours instead of spending the night cramming for the exam that was scheduled to begin at 9:00 AM that day. Samantha shuddered. She was barely finished with the first three lecture presentations, and there were four more to go! Samantha shut down her computer. Then, she changed into her pajamas and hopped into bed, allowing herself to have a good night's sleep.

Samantha was in her Psychology class, sitting in a back-row seat. In one hand, she held her pencil. In the other, she held down her exam paper. As she progressed through the exam, she tried to answer the questions as best as she could, allowing her gut feeling to dictate what she should write and how she should respond to the prompts. When the exam was completed, Samantha turned in the assignment, breathed a sigh, and hoped for the best.

Four days later, the news were announced that the grades had been posted online in everybody's school accounts. Samantha went online as soon as she heard the news, in the school library during lunch-time, and saw a big fat F and a 52/100 next to the assignment title. Crap, she thought. So much for the first exam. I know I can do better next time.

To be continued...

Writing a Sim Story...

Date Posted: 29th Apr 2013 at 12:01 AM

Currently, I have this Sim Story cooking in my head and saved on my computer's hard drive. It's titled The Freshman Year of Samantha Carruthers. Basically, it follows a teenage girl named Samantha Carruthers, as she enters secondary school for the first time and discovers the teenage lifestyle at her school. She tries to adjust in her school, and throughout the entire story, there shall be a dynamic character change within her attitude toward the world. She also gains a friend in the meantime.

I am not sure when the story will be finished, but when it will be finished, I think I would upload it here with pictures.

I am thinking of making a couple of lots to upload to Mod The Sims someday:

* a church
* a cathedral
* a mosque
* a synagogue/temple
* a shopping center
* a recreational center
* a community center
* an everything park
* a general store
* starter houses
* luxury mansions
* medieval huts
* medieval castles/forts
* a swimming pool

More Cottages is finally uploaded!

Date Posted: 28th Apr 2013 at 4:33 AM

I am so excited! I have my second lot uploaded all in the month of April! Huzzah! This calls for a celebration!

Currently in my game, I have only Pleasantview. I have deleted Veronaville and Strangetown and their pictures in my Storytelling folder (don't need them, too much work). So yeah, I'm just playing with Pleasantview, and I love it! I have played with all the pre-made families (all eight of them), and I am still wondering about how their lives will turn out in the end, what their dreams will be, who they will marry, and so on and so forth.

You know what? I am thinking of creating an inhabited base game, CC-free neighborhood on Mod The Sims, like how Peni Griffin did to her Widespot neighborhood. But I want mine to have a different theme. It will have a rustic country theme, and Simmies themselves will be somewhat old-fashioned and traditional. The major story revolves around the conflict between the old and the new, the traditional and the radical, as the younger generations think about how they will carry on the family names: will they keep up with family traditions, or smash them to smithereens?

Cutsey Cottage is finally accepted!

Date Posted: 25th Apr 2013 at 3:32 PM

I am so excited! My first upload ever to Mod The Sims has been accepted. Woohoo! Let's do the cheery, cheery chipper cheer! And you know what? This encourages me to make more and more lots!

My next lot is going to be called: More Cottages. The name of the lot is really a pun, because they are, if added to the Mod The Sims downloads gallery, more cottages, and the story behind the lot states that a philanthropist named Mr. More donated a cul-de-sac to the city in order to alleviate the homelessness.
Mood: Luff
