They have GOT to be kidding me!

Date Posted: 25th Dec 2011 at 12:44 PM

So I got another changes required message. This time, thumbnail is required (and I can't find the button). Which is fine. But now they think that the large Panda has a pot belly and it requires changes. That's fine too, but why didn't they say so in the first required changes???? Now I have to go back, change the damn Panda again, take new pictures, etc. DO THEY NOT REALIZE HOW TIME CONSUMING THAT IS???? >__<

E.T.A

Just posted in Creator Issues:

P.S. I was told that the large Panda now has a potbelly and requires changes. Note that I did not make any changes to the body of the Panda since my fist submission. I'm fine with making changes, but in the future, could you guys PLEASE let me know of ALL the changes required in one reply so that I don't have to go back, make more changes and then I have to take new pictures, make another .package file, export, then import again, then find the .sim file (I have way too many .sim files - many drafts of each animal - to just find it without first making a .sim file and changing the name), look through the new photos and then pick the best ones, resize them, then edit the submission again, etc.. I hope you can understand just how time consuming that is and will consider letting creators know what is wrong with their submission ALL in one sitting? I initially created these pets for my own game and thought I'd share them on a free site. I respect that MTS has certain standards for what's acceptable for sharing, but when your method of screening greatly inconvenience the creators (it's not like we're being paid to do this), sharing files at MTS could become a rather unpleasant experience. Just a little constructive criticism and feedback. I do not mean to offend anyone. Thank you for your attention!

I'm tired.....

Uploaded the new Pandas and Red Panda

I think the Red Panda lost his cuteness. But it looks a bit more like a real Red Panda. Hope they'll be approved this time.

So I redid the raccoon...

Date Posted: 7th Dec 2011 at 12:47 PM

I don't even know why I bothered, but once I got the ball rolling, I just spent hours and hours revising it. So, here it is, with two different mask versions. I've posted on the creation feedback forum and am waiting to see what people think of it. Meanwhile, I'm nodding off. I stay up most of the night fixing the raccoon.

Pets for the Sims 3

Date Posted: 6th Dec 2011 at 4:16 PM

So, I created a raccoon, two Pandas (large and small), and a red panda and submitted them, thinking that I could share with you all again. Aside from having incorrectly uploading the .sims3pack rather than the .sim file and not having a full body shot of the Pandas not doing anything or have its mouth open, I also got these comments:

For the Pandas:
Very cute! However, after looking at the pet both in your screenshots as well as putting it in-game, it seems that the head width could be toned down a little bit without sacrificing the overall "panda-like" look, while creating a more balanced overall look to the shape of the whole panda.

For the Raccoon:
Pretty little raccoon. Looking at the face markings closer, though, they don't match a real raccoon. Notice how the white "eyebrow" on the real raccoon goes straight across and doesn't dip towards the eyes or fade, and the black mask extends farther down the face. All the face markings could be more defined, and not fade into each other so much.

Haven't received any response for the Red Panda yet. Anyway, I didn't know that pets now must look realistic to qualify for sharing? The pets I make have always been cartoony, and I thought people liked them. Moreover, shouldn't something this subjective be left to the people downloading them to judge??? Well, I've written back and said that I like the Pandas the way they are now. I have also played around with the raccoon's markings and found that it looked the cutest with the eyebrows like that during regular game play (i.e., not zoomed in so close!). (Believe me, it took me a long time to play around with it. I go for cuteness, not exact replicas of real animals, although it still resembles them! Besides, I've looked at many photos of raccoons, and their markings differ from raccoon to raccoon. It is really necessary to nit-pick? ). So, I don't know if they will be rejected if I don't want to make the changes suggested. If they do get rejected, than I'll upload them somewhere else. MTS has never been so strict before. I wonder what happened?.... Well, here are the photos of the pets I submitted.

reuploaded files 14-06-2011

Date Posted: 14th Jun 2011 at 11:56 AM

It's been awhile - sorry for the delay. Real life has been busy, and I've also started playing with Sims 3 since last year. I think I might start playing with Sims 2 again, though, when I have time. Anyway, I think I've reuploaded all the files with broken links. If I've missed any, please let me know. Last but not least, thanks to everyone who has provided copies of my pets to links that were broken while I was away! I really appreciate your help! :lovestruc As always, Happy Simming!

Have reuploaded missing files...

Date Posted: 2nd Sep 2009 at 7:36 PM

...they should work now.

In other news, I'm still on a netbook. I had my old hard drive hooked up as an external drive so I was able to access the pets files to reupload them. Other than that, I can't do anything else - no playing with the Sims and no making new pets. But I'm surviving.

Well, my computer kicked the bucket...:(

Date Posted: 12th May 2009 at 1:04 AM

Hi all! My computer crashed about a month or so ago. I've gotten some messages in my inbox and on here regarding lost files due to MTS2 down time? Well, the good news is, my hard drive (where all my files are stored) is still alive. Bad news is, I'm currently using a dinky netbook and I won't be able to get to my Sims stuff until I get a new desktop and put in my old hard drive. Also, I don't know if it's because this netbook isn't powerful enough or what, but explorer keeps crashing soon after I log into my inbox here. So, I'm afraid I won't be able to reply to the messages. I will keep trying though.

Anyway, I'm suffering from Sims withdrawal. *~ 8P I never knew just how addicted I was to the game until my computer crashed. At first I was o.k., but recently, I've found myself itching to build Sim houses and breeding Sims and making pets. I think I need help. -_- ... In real life, I've started my search for a new puppy since my current baby (a Bichon Frise) will be turning 13 tomorrow. She's still in good health, but I think it will be easier to bare her eventual departure from my life if I was left with another baby...

As usual, thanks for all your kind words! I will re-upload the missing files as soon as I get a new computer and have my old hard drive up and running (which will be within a week or two, I think)! In the meantime, HAPPY SIMMING! TTYL

P.S. I just tried my inbox again and my browser got stuck. Hopefully, someone will read my journal and pass on the message to others who having trouble downloading my files?...

Farewell Sims 2?

Date Posted: 24th Jan 2009 at 6:52 AM

When the making of Sims 2 came out, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it! I had already grown tired of the Sims 1 and the Sims 2 looked so much more interesting! I even got a new computer in preparations for the release of the game. But with the coming Sims 3, I'm actually not very excited. In fact, I feel kind of sad since most people will no longer be making Sims 2 stuff, and I'm not ready to pack the game up just yet. I just got apartment life too! So, I think while most of you peeps will be busy focusing on Sims 3, I'll still be mucking around with the Sims 2 all by my lonesome. I'll catch up later on, though. And if they ever come out with a Sims 3 Pets, I hope I'll be able to provide you guys with more cuties!

So I've been mucking around with the cats. I must say I'm really disappointed with the limited control we have in manipulating the details of the cat - even less control than with the dogs. Also, the cats' faces are so small in game that you can hardly see them - talk about a waste of details. Nonetheless, I made some cats and will be uploading them shortly. ....... Hello? Anyone listening? Is this thing on?...

Inbox problems?

Date Posted: 12th Jun 2008 at 12:07 PM

Haven't been here in awhile. Just got an email notifying me that some people tried to send me pms (private messages, not premenstrual syndrome ), but that my inbox is full. I logged in to check, but my inbox was only 46% full?
