I've been using default eye replacements from Helaene (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=130615) for awhile now. A couple of weeks ago I switched them with these default eye replacements from Barcelonista (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=123205&highlight=barcelonista). I didn't like them, so I switched back. Now, I've decided that I do want to use Barcelonista's after all... but now I can't get them back into my game! The Helaene eyes won't go away!

At first I tried simply overriding the default files in my Downloads folder, but it didn't work. Then, I deleted the Helaene default files in my Downloads folder and put in the Barcelonista default files; still didn't work. I used the Clean Installer to disable the regular (non-default) Helaene files, hoping that would keep the eyes from showing up at all... but they're still there.

ETA: I also tried completely removing the default files from my Downloads folder, and not replacing them... but Helaene's eyes are still showing up in my game.

I've never had a problem changing default files before, so I have no idea why it isn't working now. Please help!

Are you saying that the Helaene eyes still show up as defaults, or that you just cannot get Barcelonista's defaults to show?

Yes, I mean the Helaene eyes are still there, even though I've completely disabled them and removed them from my Downloads folder.

I found the problem! I went sifting through my Downloads folder again and found a file called HelaeneEyeDefaults130.package that I'd never noticed before. (I thought the default files only came in files like default_green.package, etc?) After deleting that file, the Helaene eyes were no longer in my game.

Well done! You could always put your defaults into a folder the next time.
